A friend and I stayed here whilst in Edinburgh to watch the recent Calcutta Cup at Murrayfield. The B&B is absolutely superb and I will definitely recommend to family and friends. We had Room 2 which had a fabulous view. We had to turn the radiator down when we entered the room and it was so good to be in... More

I stayed here for a night after watching the rugby. I arrived way too early to book in meaning just to drop off my case but the receptionist checked, declared the room ready and checked me in straight away. Good start. Location is great for the city's main spots and my room (16) had a lovely view towards the castle.... More

My wife and I visited Edinburgh for a concert and decided to stay over and do some shopping the next day. Are we glad we picked this hotel? You bet! A Victorian townhouse which has been refurbished to the highest standard, the entrance area is stunning with the original oak panelling and modern furniture. The room we had (no 13!)... More

My sisters and I stayed in a room here, the room was huge with 3 beds, couch and lots of space. It was absolutely lovely and walking distance to downtown. I would definitely stay there again. More

i stayed at the B+B Edinburgh 3 separate times over a two week period as I came and went on various UK tours. Each time I had a different room. None were exact duplicates. Each one had it's own charm. My favorite was on the 4th floor, overlooking the new town area. What a view! Down comforters and comfortable beds... More

B=B Edinburgh is simply beautiful, very much an undiscovered gem. In an old townhouse in the New Town, the building drips with period features and has it's own library. We had a room at the back which had beautiful views over the New Town. The room was beautifully fitted out, just lovely. The bathroom was on the small side and... More

We arrived 6 hours before chek-in time & were heartily welcomed and accomodated immediately. Rooms are spacious, tastefully furnished, with high moulded ceilings and large beautiful windows overlooking the city and river. English breakfast (substantial and tasteful) was served in a gorgeous room with fireplace & balcony. Hotel is located in a quiet district, it takes about 5-7 minutes to... More

Enjoyed our stay here. The worst thing about this hotel was that our room was a little small but the staff were friendly. Did not have any facilities for washing clothes and there was no close laudromats nor did the motel wash them for you. Breakfast was good. The hotel was within walking distance of the city centre. The hotel... More

Recommended by a colleague for a business trip I wasn't expecting too much. However, from the moment I arrived I was absolutely delighted. Interesting and quirky old place loaded with character which is exactly what you want from a hotel in a city like Edinburgh. The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful recommending some good restaurants that I really appreciated.... More

Late booking on a 2 night stay up with friends to watch the Rugby international at Murrayfield. Melvin House was a great find at a very reasonable price for 2 twin bedded rooms. Set in a charming, elegant, quiet part of Georgian Edinburgh yet only a short walk from Princes Street and all the city centre attractions. This grand townhouse... More
