The weekend we stayed there every single stag party and hen do in the entire country seemed to be in town and staying at this hotel. We were given a room on the "relatively" quiet fifth floor which faced St Mary Street. The room was basic, but that is to be expected. But so basic that two of us had... More

Ultimately, it's a travel lodge! Was here on a Saturday night, full of stags and hens, meaning noisy in the evening, and a bit chaotic at a very busy breakfast. Rooms a bit grubby. However all staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel is filthy. The room stank. The place was stale and stuffy. It took 30mins of waiting to get checked in. The staff were young and inexperienced (not their fault) with no management at all present. This meant everything was a panic for them, and they couldn't get simple tasks right. I have stayed in other express hotels, which... More

If you want a central room with the barest of essentials then this is it. No toiletries or phone. Very sparse but it is a very clean and very central room. I wouldn't eat at the restaurant though. The food was dismal, undercooked and some had gone off. Just go find food on the Royal Mile. Great location, I would... More

This is a very typical Travelodge offering good value accommodation in a very central area. The bedrooms are OK, if a bit tired, and the public areas could do with a spruce up. But it has a bar/cafe and there are plenty of eating and drinking options nearby. Thed staff we met were pleasant and helpful, and we would certainly... More

For the price of a hostel you get a private ensuite room. A bit run-down, not really spotless, but good and more than affordable. Excellent location directly off the Royal Mile - could hardly be better. Nice and helpful staff, breakfast fine. Perfect for a night´s stay if you´re not overly fussy and know what to expect from a Travelodge.

Just got back today after stopping at this hotel in Edinburgh. We found the hotel to be in a fantastic location just off The Royal Mile which leads upto the castle. Plenty of shops, Bars and restaurants. Rooms are basic but comfortable and clean, hotel could do with updating it is looking a tired and out of date. Staff were... More

My wife and I are going over to Scotland in August/September to celebrate her 60th birthday with family as she is originally from Edinburgh. My daughter who is unfamiliar with Edinburgh booked at Travelodge Edinburgh Central believing that the word "central" would be ideal but later heard from family that the Cameron Toll hotel is just minutes away from where... Standard travelodge, fine room which was big enough, although stained mattress. Breakfast was average with plenty of everything although fairly limited choice, but for the price definitely can't complain! Very friendly service.
