This B&B is set in an amazing location and we had such a warm welcome when we arrived. We stopped here as part of our honeymoon on the way to Loch Lomond. The room was very spacious and clean with a very nice bathroom (great shower!). Lots of nice touches in the rooms. Also we had come from a wet... More

Researching Thomas Carlyle, I found this b&b in proximity, it seems Carlyle was from this area and wrote for 5 years at an estate called Craigenputtock. I am a traveler without car, so they lent me a bicycle, and each day I went off in my search for inspiration. To get to the B&B, I took a bus to Wallaceton,... More

Beautiful B&B facilities (renovated old dairy barn, adjacent to the farmhouse) on a family farm. View from bedroom window is amazing - perfect southern Scotland (hills, dry stone dykes and sheep aplenty!) Warm, friendly, cosy, relaxed, welcoming - would highly recommend it!

We stayed at Boreland Farm for two nights whilst we where doing a small tour. The welcome you get is warm and sincere, and straight away you know nothing is too much trouble for the Barnes family. The accomodation is clean, spacious and comfortable. (The biggest bed I've ever seen). The farm is spot on for walkers, tourers, fishermen and many others.... More

We just stayed one night here on our way further north. Very friendly and we loved the fact that they were in the middle of lambing and obviously busy but you did not feel that you were in the way! Breakfast in their own farmhouse kitchen chatting away with them was just great. Many thanks and good luck! Gill and... More

We've been coming to Boreland farm for 7 or 8 years now and it just gets better every time. The rooms are warm, comfortable and clean - and very private. Walking in the hills after breakfast is essential as Philipa serves HUGE portions, cooked on the Aga in the farm kitchen. There's always something to see and do (if you... More
