I am glad that you enjoyed staying in your room with a view. And let me agree with you, it is worth paying extra for a sea view. Entertainment every day is different so that you can find something that you like. I will pass your nice comments to our staff. I hope that you do come back here soon... More

Four of us have just spent a 3 night Hogmanay break at the Great Western. The staff were extremly friendly and seemed to be intent on making sure we had a good time. The food was good as was the entertainment. Special mention to Vladimir our Room Attendant who cleaned our rooms to a high standard and Alona who cheerfully... More

Just returned from a Shearings Xmas trip to The Great western, Oban. We upgraded to a sea view had a fantastic room (115) newly refurbished with 4 poster and a huge bathroom. The window on the other hand needs sorting! I used masking tape, half a toilet roll and 2 towels to get it reasonably draft free. We had 70... More

Our Premier rooms are really great. They are spacious and comfortable, and as you mentioned have very big bathrooms. I will pass your kind words to all our staff, and I am really pleased that you had a nice holiday here at the Great Western Hotel. The windows on the other hand are a wee bit older than the room... After reading through the reviews of this Hotel I am dissmayed at the attitude of some of the previous guests with regard to their comments about the Hotel being full of "senior citizens" which I find offensive, I myself and my wife have just retired and we booked with Shearings for a five day stay for the first time and... Just back from this hotel for a long weekend and had a lovely time. The room we had although a little small was clean and comfortable. The food was good and served by the waitress Maria who was excellent and could not do enough for us. We would certainly go back to this hotel in the future. More

Our usual hotel... More
