I am quite irate as I was almost put off booking this hotel because of several negative reviews listed here. Some I now find are not only rediculous but cruelly unfair to this great hotel.I thank those who posted the good reviews for being the deciding factor for staying at the Britannia for two nights. The bedroom was fabulous, clean, well decorated and quiet.The... Dear SJones2012, Thank you for your comments, unfortunately most people use sites like trip advisor to raise complaints (alot of which can be exaggerated) and few people like yourself state the positive. I am greatful that you were not put off by the "missleading comments" and did book and obviously enjoyed your stay with us. I am pleased to see... More

Had to stay here as worked had booked it and I couldn't get out of the place quick enough. Hotel is dated, dirty, staff unfriendly and food is shocking. Rooms were big enough but the standard was shocking. There is a plaque outside the hotel stating it was opened in the 1970's, going by the room I had there had... More

Dear SH1981, Thank you for your review and I apologise that you did not see any staff smiling and they were unfriendly to you. The hotel is slightly dated and work on it is constantly being done. Your comments on the food has been passed onto the chef who will look into the isues for you. More

This is breaking the law! If this place can go past the health inspector or trading standards then maybe money has been passed. Its obvious people need to stay in this place for business or lack of room space in aberdeen. If this was a tourist citty it would be closed down or the owners would be put in prison. More

stayed here for a family get-together,could not believe the beautiful rooms we were given for the bargain price of £20 per room!.Large, spacious, and very comfortable, yes, admittedly, room was a bit tired and not 100% spotless, however for the money paid,it was more than satisfactory. We had a superb meal in the restaurant upstairs, staff more than understanding and helpful, allowing us to purchase drinks(not available... More

Our daughter was in hospital in Aberdeen to have an operation so my husband and I booked a four day stay at the Britannia in Aberdeen on line. Having driven for 11 hours from Hertfordshire, we were greeted at 10.45 by an evening receptionist who demanded payment "upfront" for the room. We had also booked breakfast at £5 pppd and... More

Dear rubyslippers1, I am sorry to hear that your daughter was in hospital and hope she is better now. We do ask for payment in advance of guests stay, however the receptionist should have asked you if you wanted to open an account to be able to charge items to your room and I apologise if this did not happen.... Booked a 3 night stay 27-30 Dec but checked out 1 day early due to lack of cleanliness and unhelpful staff. Took 1.5 hours for dinner to be served due to kitchen porter not turning up. Dear johnandeunice, I am sorry if you felt that you waited 1.5 hours for your dinner. Our door locks are electronic and as such can have glitches, although rarely, when this was discovered you were offered to move to a room next door to the one you were in which you chose not to do. I apologise if the lift... More

We stayed here while attending a Xmas party night, the food was quite poor but what can you expect for £15. Our room was clean but in desperate need of modernisation. The Christmas party finished at 1am on the way back to the room we came across 2 piles of sickness, when we went for breakfast about 9.30 we again... More

Dear xLorax, thank you for attending one of our reduced price party nights and staying over on the night. I am sorry that there was sickness that was not cleaned up and I have spoken to the night staff about this to ensure it does not happen again. Some of the rooms are in need of modernising but I am... Having driven 5 miles from the centre fo town just to find the place, I then had to hunt for the reception, which is hidden beyond an underpass with a sinister flickering light. I was relieved to get through theunderpass without being mugged, but I was only delaying the inevitable as I was brutally robbed to the tune of £100... More

Dear John_Denis, Thank you for your comments, the hotel is actually just under 4miles from the city centre in Bucksburn (as noted in the address) The hotel reception entrance is under part of the hotel with a drive under for cars to pick up and drop off, it is hardly a underpass where you would be mugged. If there was... More
