As the organiser of a group of 14 and having never stayed at the Vagabond before you can imagine my apprehension on arrival. However I very quickly realised that I had nothing to worry about, Mark the Manager could not do enough to help us settle in and on quick inspection you could easily see that the place was nice... Stayed here with a large group of fellow mountain bikers recently. Hosts were very friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and tidy and the food was excellent. The bar was also good value and welcoming (we never made it to any of village pubs!). At £30 pp including breakfast and dinner it was very good value. The surrounding area is... More

Wonderful place to stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was lovely, and the accommodation was clean, secure and comfortable. I had a great time at the Vagabond and met some fascinating people. It's a great base to visit the local beauty spots. I went to the Fairy Glen and to the Swallow Falls, both beautiful places, but... Before this review gets removed again, i'd just like to point out that I did actually stay here on Saturday the 6th of April. A group of us were biking in Wales for the weekend and needed somewhere to stay over. The Vagabond seemed to tick the boxes, main one being we needed secure bike storage. When I rang to... More

It's rather sad and somewhat disturbing that a person should take such pleasure in trying to tarnish our reputation for a quality bunkhouse at an affordable price. This person has had two reviews/rants removed by Trip Advisor because of its insulting and abusive nature. His third review has now fallen within their guidelines. However, this review is inaccurate, contradictory and... More

Well where do I start? From the friendly welcome, nothing is too much trouble for guests at this bunkhouse. It has everything you need: warm comfortable rooms with clean linen, hot showers, more food than you can eat (and it was really tasty), a drying room for your wet hiking gear, a good bar and dining room and friendly staff... I have stayed here before and have just spent the past week here. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Vagabond as it's just a 2 minute walk into town and ideally situated for mountain adventures; it's clean, warm, the breakfasts are great and Mark and Callie really looked after us. It could do with some more plug points though, but... More

Brilliant location only 2 mins from the town, Vagabond Bunkhouse is perfect for large groups or mixture of smaller groups of people wanting to get out and about and enjoy the beautiful Welsh countryside. Staff and other guests were so friendly - this created a really good atmosphere. Mark the host is a great guy - friendly, helpful and he... More

Amazing place, good fun, great atmosphere and good party in between the climbing and walking. Clean and nice owners. Good location in the town and only a few minutes walk from good pubs. Good bar at the hostel too. Definitely recommend. (Mirrors could be slightly lower for short people lol lol lol ;)
