Stayed just one night when walking Offa's Dyke Path. Ann excellent host and attended to all our requests with charm and helpfulness. Rooms warm and cosy - quite small and no twins. Tony offered to take us back to route in morning - saving us a mile of tough walking at the start of the day. Very enjoyable visit.

We noticed the 5star hygiene rating on the door as we arrived. Our room looked down towards Llangollen with the ruins of the Valle Crucis Abbey visible from the window. The room was warm and comfortable, the food excellent and the welcome made it a perfect stay. It isn't the first time we stayed here, but the fourth. We periodically... More

We arrived early afternoon on a very cold day in February. Although a little early we were immediately taken to our room after a friendly welcome. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was amazing with it's beams and half tester curtained bed, which was very comfortable. We ate an evening meal in their restaurant. The menu was wide... More

We initially dismissed this place as the pictures on the net made it look a bit outdated but I have to say I was wrong - what a gem this is. The people make it, they are so warm and welcoming and the lady who owns it was wonderful. The menu was simple but was cooked perfectly and we had... More

We didn't actually stay here, we just ate here as we noticed it passing one day, beautiful old building, very homely and welcoming, staff could not do enough for us. We all had beef roast diners, we have never tasted anything like it. Food was brilliant and we will be returning very soon :-)

Arrived on a very cold dark wet night to a lovely warm welcome , enjoyed a great meal in the restaurant before retiring to a very cosy, charming room. The breakfast was gorgeous and a very good choice on the menu . Have eaten here before on previous trips and never been dissapointed. Ann and her team do an excellent... More

I have been fetching my elderly parents to the Britannia for many years. They don't get out much but they are always guaranteed to enjoy their time at the Britannia. They really like sitting near the open fire in the bar area. Very cosy. My mother doesnt have a big appetite so always goes for the 'lite bites', (although she... More

Good, hearty, wholesome food which arrives piping hot. Large portions and highly efficient service. No waiting for ages. This is traditional British food at its best. Lots of choice and flexible options. You can have half chips and half rice if you wish and the chef will always make changes to accommodate your choices. The light bites are not that... More

I have to completely agree with Barry G, who's review seems to have completely disappeared from the this website. Why not approach the proprietor of the establishment if you have a complaint rather than write this on a website. Having eaten at this establishment on numerous occasions, I can honestly say that I have never had a bad meal here,... More
