I was positively surprised after having read the reviews. It's a quiet and cosy place only a short walk from the center and the cathedral. Tidy rooms with comfortable beds, mine No 7 with cathedral view and ensuite toilet, maybe a little noisy if you let the window open due to the nearby city road. Full English breakfast comes exactly... More

Great place ideal location for an overnight stay,we were racing a car local to Salisbury,so being from Cheltenham needed over an night stay, car parking was disorganised with one car taking 3 places, clean room and bathroom but beds were like sleeping on planks,we needed yo be on the road next day for 7,so the guy who greeted us saturday night said... The approach to this 'hotel' is by far the best thing about it. We were disappointed to say the least. The only natural light in our room came from the adjoining bathroom - the windows to our room overlooked a communal sitting room so the blinds were permanently pulled down. There was very little reception on the tiny TV -... More

Do not expect any frills at this establishment. However it did the job for us this weekend. Perhaps a little pricy considering the room and decor, but as any profit goes to good causes this was acceptable. My friend and I felt a little more hospitality would not have gone amiss. There was little conversation between hosts and guests.

The alabare is a funny little place. Sometimes quiet and other times quite noisy. Strange noise at 4am woke me up. Thumping noise. Really strange.maybe water pipes not quite sure. It was handy for the city centre and better to walk than drive. Breakfast was average. Didn't bother on 3rd morning. The standard room doesn't have en suite facilities so... More

When we arrived in Salisbury we were too early to check in by a couple of hours. After texting the owner he said we could check in early. At the check in we were asked what we would like for breakfast the next morning and what time we would like it. We were given our keys and shown to our... More

An easy walk into central Salisbury, on-site parking and a clean, comfortable room looking onto a peaceful garden. Friendly staff were relaxed about my late arrival and printed me off a city map when I asked for directions the next morning. Comfortable beds, plenty of fluffy white towels. Sink in room and shared, spotlessly clean bathrooms. Large tables in the... More

Terrible breakfast. Really disappointing. Room ok but beds small. Good central location. Would be ok for a night, but not for longer. Nice city.

I've stayed for one night in Alabare guesthouse. This is a very small place where you can stay in rest. The house is very silent and you can have a good quality sleep. You can also order your breakfast at night and you can request at certain time in the morning. Cons: Very nice staff, very clean and silent hotel.... More

I stopped here for 1 night while visiting some friends but had a mixed experience. The good points: Its set apart in a residential area with a secure care park(may be a bit of walk if you dont have a car though), the rooms were clean. The bad: I stopped in a twin room and the beds were a little... More
