We were in room 2 at the front of the house, its quite an outdated room and because of the draughty windows the room failed to get warm. When we checked out the landlady said extra heaters were available, but surely we could have been told this when we checked in? - not when we were leaving. Brilliant location for... More

We are very sorry that you were cold. Please, please tell us at the time so that we can do something about it. We do not offer heaters to every one on arrival as the heating is usually sufficient and many guests say they are too warm. We are sorry that you think the room to be outdated as it... More

First best bits, location for RSC is superb. Bad bits, freezing cold room, (at front of hotel) with thin duvet and heating that was woefully inadequate. We had to go out to get warm! When we raised the room temperature when leaving we were told heaters are available, but why are these not in the rooms? Who asks for heaters... More

First the good bits. Thankyou for acknowledging our superb location, we are a 5 - 10 min walk from the Theatres and town centre. Now the bad bits. We honestly do not know what you mean by your doily heaven comment. We use 1 doily under fruit salad dish and no others. We do try and give our breakfast room... More

This was our second visit to the Melita, 24 years apart, we received the same excellent service both times. The rooms are well appointed & very clean, easy access on foot into the town centre and to the theatre, breakfast is wonderful and healthy, loved it, will visit again. More

Yes we are still here after 24 years, It was lovely to see you again but please don't leave it quite as long next time as we could not guarantee to be still here then. Glad you enjoyed everything and thankyou for your review and showing us your Melita pictures from 24 years ago. Strange i haven't aged at all. More

Stayed for one night as I was seeing an evening performance at the RSC. The owner was very welcoming and I had been upgraded as they were quiet. My room was immaculate and had everything I could need. The location is great, just a short, attractive walk from the town and theatre. Breakfast was great and set me up for... More

It's very rewarding when a customer says such positive comments about our rooms and breakfasts etc. We really try hard to get things right and your review is very much appreciated. More

My sisters and I recently stayed at Melita and had the family room at the top of the house, which proved to be ideal. Twin basins in the bathroom helped when four of us were doing our makeup. The only negative was that there was some traffic noise from the road, but since we were on a busy road and... More

We are so glad you all enjoyed your stay in our family room. Unfortunately it is on the front of the house and with the window open in hot weather traffic noise may be heard by those sensitive to it. Being so conveniently situated to the town centre and not a country side B&B does sometimes mean traffic may be... More

Lovely Room overlooking the garden and up to the RSC Theatre. Just 8 mins walk to RSC / town centre. Staff and owners charming and attentive, the breakfast was generous with good quality food. No tesco value here. Will come back again. We had the superior room and the fittings and bedding reflected the description. The decoration of the hotel... More

My wife and I stayed at the Melita during our trip to see Stratford again and visit all the 'Shakespeare' houses. We booked for two evenings following a strong recommendation from a friend who had visited many times. We were not disappointed. The hotel was very smart and in fine decorative order. Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Very good... More

I stayed for three nights, mainly to see two RSC plays, and couldn't have hoped for a better place to stay. A very clean, well equipped room overlooking the garden; excellent breakfast menu; very friendly, helpful staff; plenty of parking space; and only five minutes walk to the RSC theatre. Great value for money, and definitely where I will be... More

I don't think that the Melita lives up to its photos. Our room was small and at the front so subject to a lot of traffic noise on the busy road. Terribly stuffy, although it wasn't their fault that it was the hottest October day on record. The gardens are nowhere near as nice as the photos. Good points: the... More

Please note that this review was written through a third party who did not actually stay at the Melita. However we are also dissapointed that the couple who did stay were not completely satisfied with their stay as this is always the number one objective. I would like to answer the comments made in your review. Firstly, all photos on... More
