Stayed here for my Partners 50th Birthday after reviewing Trip Advisor Reviews, This boutique hotel is everything we could have wished for! Wonderful Staff, who were attentive & friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The superior room we had was named Bodega, a gorgeous room facing the Tyne, amazingly comfy kingsize bed, with egyptian cotton sheets,... More

A luxurious and elegant hotel, yet it feels very cosy & relaxed. Beautifully decorated! The lounge bar area immediately after reception just forces you to sit down, relax round the fire & read the papers. We had Sunday lunch in the bistro. I thought the menu was limited but it was extremely good value for the quality of the food.... More

Having had great eating and service experiences at other Hotels du Vin in the past, when it came to choosing a venue for a special birthday dinner party, this quickly rose to the top of the list. I'm glad to say that the Newcastle team did not disappoint. We'd booked their Shipyard room for a private dinner and also had... More

I decided to surprise my other half by booking a night at Hotel Du Vin in Newcastle at the end of November. I live in the city, but I do enjoy staying in a hotel close to home as a special treat. HDV is part of the Malmaison chain, and is only about a 5 minute walk from Newcastle Malmaison... More

I booked this fairly last minute, great to see the prices had not been inflated for new years day lunch, my only thoughts were ? short staffed and a little slow, put put this down to being a bank holiday. Wine is "there thing", but keep looking and you can find a bottle of house wine on the list! More

Booked Christmas lunch for two at the Hotel du Vin and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The food itself was really lovely and didn't feel remotely 'mass produced' even though there were a huge number of people having Christmas lunch there. The service was really friendly and professional and the staff on duty seemed to be really enjoying themselves despite... More

I would have loved to write a brilliant review today, but I'm afraid our recent visit to HDV left me underwhelmed and quite disappointed. In contrast to a superb meal we had at HDV in Glasgow a few months ago, the dinner and breakfast at HDV Newcastle this week-end was average at best. All the nice touches are there but... More

Our first stay at a Hotel du Vin, chosen as I had heard good reports of them, and we weren't disappointed. Our room was the Balfour in the block opposite the reception so no views but on this occasion we weren't prepared to pay for an upgrade to a room with a view. (Although as they didn't seem particularly busy... More

This was our second stay at a Hotel du Vin together (previously visited Harrogate), and we will definitely return. I had read a few less complimentary comments on here about parking and adjacent building sites, but these did not really affect our stay unduly. The reception desk was staffed by a friendly and helpful team for whom nothing appeared to... More

As a wonderful surprise from my boyfriend, he booked this hotel for Valentines Day 2011. I absolutely loved it from start to finish. Having been to University in Newcastle, I have stayed in a number of hotels around the city including MalMaison and the Jesmond Dene Hotel and this was by far the best and in a different league to...
