We stayed at the Ayrlington for one night during the week and while it was all OK, it wasn't the luxurious experience I would associate with a five-star establishment and it makes me question the AA's criteria. Our room was on the top floor at the back, overlooking a well-kept garden. The room itself was OK, but there were a... More

The Ayrlington is a great little find. A small hotel close to the centre of Bath and all the attractions (about 10 minutes level walk). Unusually for the centre of Bath this hotel has adequate free parking for all guests, a real plus in a city where parking is difficult and quite expensive. The welcome at the hotel was really... Just come back from a 2 day stay at the Ayrlington in Bath, and a little confused at the "5 Star" rating. i can only imagine its a 5 star in the world of a B/B as the rooms and hotel are not 5 star standard no gym pool etc . The room was large and cleanish with some parts... More

Clean and comfortable hotel with friendly helpful staff. We had a ground floor room overlooking beautiful gardens. A 10 minute stroll takes you to the centre of town where there is plenty to do and see. A minor downside is the residents bar closes at 10pm and so not easy to enjoy a meal out and a nightcap at the... More

Myself and my girlfriend recently spent a night at the Ayrlington Hotel based in Bath. The location is just out of the city centre and walking from it to the centre takes about 15mins. And a lovely walk it is too. We stayed in a lovely contemporary room, all open plan and very large. The on-suite bathroom was large and... More

This is an old building within easy walking distance to the centre of Bath. We had a deluxe room overlooking bath rugby club and the beautiful rear garden of the hotel. The room was large with plenty of drawer space and a comfortable bed. the bathroom was also large and well equipped but could do with a little TLC. It... More

We spent 3 nights at this place over a weekend and were most impressed by the size of the room, the proximity to the town and its attractions and the helpfulness of the staff. Given the difficulty in parking in Bath it is a great location about a 10 minute walk to the centre of town. The staff were all lovely... More

My sisters and I have just spent a wonderful 3 nights at the Ayrlington. We occupied the 3 bedrooms on the top floor which had lovely views. I would say that it is a 5 star Bed and Breakfast rather than a 5 star hotel. The reception staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful at all times - so was Ling,... More

As experienced B & B users, we found The Ayrlington lacking in most areas that we consider difference-makers between B & Bs and Hotels. The Bed was comfortable and The Breakfast was good, but, other than the fine reception staff, all of the little things were missing. We never met the owner, there was zero interaction with the other guests,... More
