Here we go then ! Yes it needs money spent on it in some places but our room wasnt damp or cold and we didnt have to part with a limb to pay for it. It all depends i suppose what you go here to do. We just come to relax ,read and generally do very little. Its one hotel... More

I booked this hotel very last minute. I think they are still trying to live on past reputation somewhat as the signs for the hotel are the Copthorne, this hotel is very very dated and in need of works throughout. That said there wasnt any major issues with my stay. My room was damp and cold and in need of... More

I stayed in the hotel only just one night, but will never come back again unles they start investing some money into it. Pictures on websites do not show whats there. Location lovely. View from bedroom very nice. Internet connection very poor, unacceptable. Directions on websites are incorrect. Sat nav with updated maps is a good idea. Many areas require... More

We stayed at this hotel between Christmas and New Year. The receptionist on arrival was excellent - welcoming and efficient. The first room we were offered was dismal - very unwelcoming, sparse, cold and badly lit. The carpet was dirty. We were upgraded (free of charge) to a suite, for which we were grateful, and showed good customer service. The... More

If you get room 120 then ask for another one! It's very tired, paper pealing off the walls, signs of mould. Bathroom although nice and clean is very dated and mould signs on tile grout etc. it also smells musty as a consequence. It seems pot luck whether you get a good room at this hotel as others have stayed... More

This hotel, for the price paid was superb. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was huge and overlooked the lake, on a hideous cold winter day this didn't make a difference but I can imagine the summer this being very pleasant. The M4 is very close but no noise was noticeable. There is a well equipped gym for Aerobic... More

The staff were about the only good thing about this hotel, they work really hard. However this cannot make up for a tired, dated hotel in a poor location a stones throw from the M4 (so its noisy). It is on the wrong side of the M4 for Reading and its location is difficult to get to, I would suggest... More

The title says it all - I was less than impressed with this hotel and if all you want is a flea pit to sleep in then you have made a good choice. The bathroom in my room needed a complete clean, it looked like the bathroom would in a student house with grim around the taps and shower head.... More
