Stayed here with friends - really impressed. Had driven past many times and had often wished to stay here, very glad we now have done so ... delighted with the welcome, the service that we received and the exceptionally comfortable rooms. We recommend upgrading to one of the feature rooms for a special occasion. Great location if you want to... More

I'd actually have given the hotel a 'good' rating, if there had been that option. Booked a DBB rate, which included a feature room. We arrived late morning, too early to check in, but were able to leave the car in the (free) car park, so wandered into Oxford - about a 10 - 15 minute walk. On our return,... More

Booked for a night DBB package for £99 through the Classic British Hotel website. Arrived at the hotel about 1.30pm and given our room key straight away (room 51). Room was nice, clean, a bit chilly but soon warmed up after turning up radiator. Nice firm double bed and clean white sheets. All lights seem to be of the Eco... More

Another 3 brothers catch up weekend. Booked by my younger brother (40 something) we usually havea twin and a single to keep costs down and cash available for a nice meal and more beer but ended up with 3 singles @£55 each room only. Room very clean, hundreds of cushions and pillows. Why? We too had the boiler down for... More

We checked in at 5pm to a very cold room in the middle of January. We rang reception and were told that their boiler was shut down for maintenance and would be back on in half an hour. The radiator remained cold until the next morning. The bathroom light took a very long time to turn on so we effectively... More

My partner and I stayed in room 65 for 2 nights over the holdiay period. Our first time at the hotel and despite arriving a few hours earlier than the check in time stated the room was ready so check in completed then a nice easy walk into town. Location is great with busses into Oxford for those who unable... More

Having booked this hotel for New Years Eve 3 night stay before we read comments on trip advisor we were a bit sceptical on our departure for the break. However when we arrived all our doubts were unfounded. The room was a good size with plenty of space to move around and room easily for the cases, contrary to many... More

We visited this hotel for twixmas break, made to feel at home straight away, from receptionist to bar staff and waiting staff, nothing was too much trouble for them. Great food, reasonably priced drinks, what more could you ask for. Would recommend it to anybody. More

I needed to stay overnight in Oxford for a work meeting, and a colleague recommended the Cotswold Lodge. It was convenient for my meeting the next day, and easy to get to. I walked to the hotel from the rail station (about 20 minutes, your mileage may vary). Check-in was easy and I was given a room on the ground... More

Having stayed at this hotel for 2009 christmas and enjoyed a thorouhgly festive break with excellent food and great staff we decided to make a return visit. We arrived on Christmas Eve to a negative reception and absolutely no atmosphere at all. Christmas day was even worse with no festivity at all.The breakfast was abysmal and lunch defies description but I'll... More
