We stayed here despite all the poor reviews and it really wasn't that bad for a hostel. The staff we dealt with were all polite and helpful, everything was adequately clean, and the location is great. Main downside in our opinion is the lack of lockers in the rooms.

This hostel should be avoided at all costs. The staff are disgustingly rude, slovenly, and completely untrained. The rooms are dirty (e.g., my pillowcase had several black hairs on it). Dirty rooms and showers, unfriendly staff and some dodgy guests (who had apparently been thrown out of the nearby YHA). Avoid at all costs! It's worth spending the extra one pound to stay at either of the other two hostels close by.

I stayed here for two nights in June of 2012. The Hostel is filthy, the rooms are tiny, and all in all it is a very unpleasant place. Do your best to find a different hostel, for example the nearby YHA hostel is far superior.
