Stayed here just one night for a wedding. Room comfortable and quiet and overall a nice homely atmosphere. About a 20 min walk into town - quite pleasant on a nice day (and a bus stop just over the road if not). Breakfast was lovely and my boyfriend asked after the unusual brown sauce - only to be given a... More

Stayed here for 5 days for a family event in Oxford. The room was large, over the street (Iffley Road). You can more or less hear everything going on out on the road, but we were lucky and there wasn't too much going on (and we were going to bed really late anyway). The bathroom is clean but quite small.... More

Met friends here for 4 days before a canal boat trip. Room to park our car out front. Very welcoming from both owners, Mary and George. Comfy front room were we gathered in the evening after a day of touring. We had room # 5 on the second floor and our friends has a smaller room in the back garden... More

My husband and I recently spent 11 nights at Browns while visiting our new grandchild. We chose Browns on the recommendation of our daughter in law and the proximity of the guest house to the our children's apartment. So nearness to the city centre or even price wasn't a consideration in our choosing Browns. But we were very, very happy... More

I was in room 4, my relatives in room 5. What a difference! My room was tiny, dark and airless. The small window faced a brick wall, which echoed traffic noise during the night. My relatives' was spacious, with large windows. On the plus side, it was clean, the breakfast room is cheerful and bright, the lounge is comfortable, the... More

En route to Bletchley Park. B&B first booked cancelled at last minute. Then we found this gem. Twin room at back of house, quiet and looking out at pretty garden. Spotlessly clean en suite and very comfy beds. Breakfast delightful, service and welcome excellent. Made all the better by being situated 5 mins walk from excellent Magdalen Arms pub. Would... More

The single room was tiny, draughty (I had an icy gale from the window down my neck) and lacked basic equipment: no soap in the handbasin, no welcome information (including wifi password). The mattress and possibly the bed base were overused and need to be replaced. The shared bathroom was clean and functional. My colleague's room, also single, had the... More

Mary and George the owners were very good hosts and lovely people. Breakfast was the usual : English Breakfast, Toast, Tea/coffee, Cereals, Juices. Our room in the back of the house was a nice quiet comfortable room, the beds were lovely, nice and clean everyday. Our en-suite had a double shower, toilet and sink, which did the job. The bus... We stayed at Browns for one night while attending an event nearby, and found it a comfortable, but overpriced place to stay... LOCATION: We chose Browns because of its proximity to the event venue, so it was a good location for us - however, I'm not sure how long it would take to access the centre of Oxford as we... More
