Just arrived home from a 3 day stay at Knowle House Apartments, allocated 'York' apartment. Small but fine for a couple, clean room, bed, kitchen and bathroom. Five minutes walk to town, friendly and helpful staff and car parking .Only negatives are the 5 flights of stairs to this room and some minor lack of attention to detail for example... More

lovely staff - couldn't do enough for us, nice position and facilities in room were great, we stayed in the St Olvaes apartment.. I were to split hairs the only downside of room was headboard on bed - it was quite uncomfortable!

Brilliant hotel, basic but all you need. Fab location for races or trips into York, 5 min walk into centre. We neede to leave early in the morning so the lovely lady on reception put cereal bacon and sausage and bread in our fridge so we could make breakfast before we left . We stayed in the St Olave's apartment. Reception was very friendly and helpful and the apartment was very good, being in an old house it boasted high coved ceilings, very large sash windows and was clean, spacious and well furnished. Having spent a couple of nights at Hedley House, I can highly recommend them. The rooms are clean, tidy and really comfortable; the breakfasts were superb and the staff are so, so friendly. It's situated really near to York's old town, perfect for sight seeing around the town. We'll definitely be back!

Booked through KGB Deals as a double room with breakfast but were accomodated in an apartment in Knowle House. The staff are very good and the breakfast was excellent and served efficently even through there was a large group of French students staying. The location is really good being just outside the walls. I would recommend it to friends.

Booked through Living Social so got great deal on a twin room ensuite, actually was accommodated in an apartment located in the hotel gardens. Very handy for the outdoor spa facilities, which looked lovely but we hadn't bought robes, I'd recommend big fluffy ones seeing as its likely to hail this summer!!
