So if you're going to the adopted home of Count Dracula, here's the perfect place to get the full Gothic experience. Bats & Broomsticks isn't nearly as tacky as a 'Gothic theme guest house' might sound. Yes...there's a bat hanging off the end of the four poster in the Dracula room, yes...there's a coffin at the top of the stairs... More

We stayed here in May 2012 and loved every minute! The owners have really put effort into making the B&B gothic themed, and although some bits are fun (garlic in the cupboard incase of emergency!) it is not at all tacky. The bedrooms were great, with 4 poster beds and lovely decor. The only downside was not having an en-suite,... More

We stayed here on the Bank Holiday weekend just gone for the Sunday and Monday night and had an awesome time! Lovely large room with a 4 poster bed which was extremely comfy, felt right at home! We stayed in the Lunar room which was awesomely gothic and just completely brilliant - i don't want to spoil it for anyone,... More

We stayed here for a long weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my 40th Birthday. Having read not a single bad review, we figured it was worth checking out. The location was brilliant for getting into Whitby, just a short walk down the hill. Our room was the Green Man room, which had the comfiest bed ever, a lovely... More

Best nights sleep ever. EVER. The four poster bed was amazing, and although the owner (Kev) was very modest about it, a local lad told us that Kev had made it himself! The photos of this place really don't do it justice.. We stayed in the Solar room, which was just stunning. We called the owners to enquire about local... More

Stayed here for a birthday treat and loved every minute. Didn't have the chance of meeting Tish, but Kev is a delight as a host - nothing is too much trouble. The Lunar room was fantastic! My hubby was shocked by what he found in a drawer! I wont give anything away as it really needs to be experienced in... More

We stayed for our 1st time on sunday and it wont be our last. We stayed in the dracula room and it was perfect for me, especially with my obsession with vampires. Loved all the special touches (the teddy bears were wicked and im googling to buy one) and all the decor, could not fault it one bit. Especially enjoyed... More

My boyfriend and I have just come back from here and we both thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Kev is a lovely guy and a great host. The rooms are large, with comfy beds and amazing decor. The only con would be it isn't ensuite so you have to walk down the corridor, however it wasn't enough to damped the... More

I cant say enough good things about this place. Very pleasant owners, very friendly, photos you might see do not do it justice. The beds are super comfortable, we slept like the dead! DVD and VHS library is well stocked with humour and horror, so if you want to curl up on a 4 poster and watch Dracula and Keanu... More

Really enjoyed our stay here, great location - about 5-10 mins walk to Whitby - up quite a steep hill back. Really good attention to theme detail in the B and B - e.g. box of stakes and hammer in wardrobe! Bed was really comfy and breakfast tasty. The only tiny minor point I could possibly think of for improvement... More
