While not in the most centrally located part of the City, this basic small, delightful Quaker B and B offers everything the traveler on a limited budget could want! Close to the Tube, Bus lines, good food and the British Museum, it is a great base for exploring the City. the rooms, while small, are clean and fully appointed. The food... More

We much enjoyed our 1-night stay in the Penn Club with its great location near the British Museum. It was quiet and clean with a well-appointed room (except it would be nice to provide a second towel rack , and the large buffet breakfast was very good.. It seemed a bit expensive for a non en suite room (97 pounds),... More

The Penn Club isn't a luxurious hotel, a chambre d'hotes, a cosy homestay or a hostel. The furnishings are plain and simple, the paintwork slightly chipped, the carpet slightly old. However it is a safe, calm, clean and friendly place to stay within 10 minutes walk from Euston and St. Pancras, a stones throw from the British Museum and very... More

The Penn Club was perfect for us. It is quiet, central, clean and affordable and all the people who work there are friendly and helpful. However, it isn't particularly nice, the furnishings are old and quite ugly, the internet is really slow, the beds quite uncomfortable, and the library (which I was really looking forward to) smelt a bit strange.... Before you stay here it is important to understand that this is not your average run of the mill accommodation. A clear Quaker ethos is central to the club, therefore you will find nothing showy, ostentatious, or tawdry. Expect instead slightly dated but quality furnishings, an atmosphere of gentle calm, total cleanliness, and simple fitness for purpose. The guests are... More

We have stayed at The Penn Club twice and would recommend it to anyone wanting a Bloomsbury location at a reasonable Price. If you are looking for an American style accommodation, this isn't it. There is no elevator and the stairs are steep but the rooms are clean and well maintained. The staff is helpful and the breakfast is great.... More

We stayed at The Penn Club as we could walk to the theatre and it seemed a quiet place in the heart of London. Our room was very disappointing, we felt we had been stuck at the back of the hotel. Our room was cramped with the bathroom a sort of big box extension in the middle of the room,... More

London is very expensive. My husband researched Friends accommodations, and based on the website we booked. The Club is in an excellent location (one tube ride from LHR), close to many fine amenities, and very quiet. It was clean, homey, comfortable, and very well kept. Each morning we enjoyed a full breakfast, cooked to order, and used the fridge and... More

If you want wifi, t.v. or luxury, don't bother this one. But if all you want is a very comfortable bed, a powerful, hot shower, a friendly place to stay and a great breakfast at a great price (breakfast included) in Bloomsbury, do choose this one. (Cheaper still if you're happy to share a bathroom.) Based on Quaker principles, this... More

Was in London for a business trip, but hubby was going to be sightseeing; as expected he spent a good bit of time at the British Museum, so this location was ideal. The conference hotels were quite a bit more expensive and the reviews were scattered, the reviews for The Penn Club indicated it was clean and quiet which we... More
