My wife and stayed at the HIExpress in Golders Green London for 4 nights for a family event.
The front desk staff were friendly and super accommodating. The Food Service team, especially those workin on the (included) breakfast duty were attentive and went above and beyond . One staff person even loaned us 2 "Oysters" - a transit pass needed to ride the buses. Nice!
The actual breakfast had both Kosher and regular fare. The Kosher was minimalistic . The housekeeping was contracted out and the quality reflected a lack of caring. The rooms were minimalistic but clean & comfortable. Electric outlets were in short supply although the front desk quickly provided an extension cord upon request.
Overall, maybe not a honeymoon spot , but more than adequate for a budget stay. Tge location was on bus routes and close to the Tube as well as easy walking distance to numerous local shops and restaurants.

After coming to this hotel to book a room for my friend who has been recently made homeless. I was met at reception by 2 ladies, They seemed very friendly and had good customer service i would give 5 stars for them. The other lady who was a little bit chunky came out abit later and kept making some heavy breathing noise which seemed very unprofessional. A solution would be for her to join a gym and improve on her cardiovascular system this may help her from getting out of breath so easily.

Now for the reason i gave it 3stars.

1) They tried to charge me £90 for a room when online it was £50 but they soon amend that and honoured that price.

2) The card machine wouldn't allow me to pay via google pay. I left my other card at home.

3) After going back and fourth i decide to pay in cash which i was told i would need to pay extra £50 deposit on top , which had forced to stay the night so i could collect my deposit.

4) Breakfast was ok but they didn't provide any halal options/ Such as chicken sausage or turkey bacon as an alternative.

5) After breakfast i got ready went downstairs to collect my deposit to go to work, I wanted to live my friend untill 11am check out so he could shower and sleep for abit longer. I was told i was not allowed to collect my £50 deposit if my friend was still inside, So i had to go up stairs and collect my friend and tell him he is not allowed to stay any longer. I went downstairs to collect my deposit they told me i had to wait an extra 5mins for them to check the room, Mind you by this time i was going to be late for work. After arriving downstairs at 9.30 the whole situation took an extra 15 minutes which had made me late for my first client at 10am.

All in all i wouldn't go back to this hotel the whole ordeal was very unpleasant and prolonged experience and made to feel humiliated.

Nice hotel situated in a great location. Just off the north circular road so easy to get to most of London. 5 mins in a car to Golders Green tube station and 10 mins walk to Finchley Central tube. Rooms are abit dated, but they’re clean. The showers aren’t great either, hot and cold and low pressure. Breakfast is hot and plentiful, but basic.

So me my sister and our 2 13 year old daughters stayed in this hotel for 3 days we were on a break from Ireland. Before we even got our cards for our room they asked for 50 pound deposit we decided to give them a 100 euro deposit instead and was told this is only incase of damage to the room they will keep the deposit that was ok. Got to our rooms dropped our bags and left straight away to go into central london. So the next day on out pill out bed I noticed dried in blood when the sheet was pulled over didn't complain as there was a sheet covering it so didn't really want to make a big deal about it. So make a long story short the day came to check out and the receptionist told us oh we have to check the room before we give ur deposit back that's fine nothing to worry about we cleaned everything before we left and had it in good condition 5 mins later the ignorant housecleaning supervisor came down with a towel that had makeup on and started by telling us that it's in there policy about getting makeup on there Rowland that now they will have to dispose of it I explained that any makeup on my towels at home comes out I explained that with ur big industrial cleaning machine I'm sure the makeup will come out but I will give 5 pound to cover that towel if needed then the duty manager comes over oh no towel is not a big issue there blood on the bed I told them let's all go up and look at this blood u could clearly see if was well dried in blood from many weeks ago I also showed them my PJ ends and explained I was wearing these for 3 days going to bed if there blood on the mattress I'm sure u would see some on the towels we used and my night pants and the ignorant supervisor cleaner was nodding her head and I expressed my anger at her explaining that her cleaners are not doing a good job cleaning anyway they kept 50 from out deposit we had to rush back to the airport to catch our flight. I will never ever stay in this place again they take a deposit and then try anything to keep the money the cleaner supervisor was the most ignorant person I ever seen. The pull out bed was like sleeping on cardboard I would of been better sleeping on the hard ground.never again nothing was nice about the place at all.

We booked in for one week. We were given a room for the disabled which was very big with a walk in shower.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I was able to light candles downstairs on Friday night for the Sabbath and a Kosher breakfast is provided and included in the price of the room.
Small point - the car park is not really big enough for the number of cars and not very well planned due to the barrier being where it is.
We have stayed here three times and it is very well situated for public transport and shops. Highly recommend it.

We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel. It is very reasonably priced and the staff are so helpful. They can't do enough for you. WE hosted a dinner for 18 people and although it should have serve yourselves the staff helped us and even stayed late to present a birthday cake. The bedrooms are comfortable and clean and have a fridge in the room. Breakfast is included and there is a good choice. If you need Kosher food it is available on Friday night, Saturday lunch and breakfast every day. It is a 15 minute walk to Finchley Central tube station.

On 4th January 2023 I booked to stay at the Holiday Inn Express Golders Green for two nights in June via the IHG app as I will be attending my niece's wedding.
I subsequently recommended my son to stay there too as the prices were very reasonable. However, I just spoke to him and he said that there was no availability when he looked on the web. I was surprised by this so checked myself and found that the hotel availability was blocked out until September.
I then rang IHG customer service (0371 423 4847) who, after some delay, confirmed that there was indeed a problem with the hotel. The agent then advised me that he would transfer me to reservations so that my booking could be cancelled. After several minutes on hold I was then cut off!
I rang back and spoke to another agent. She initially knew nothing about the closure of the hotel but did eventually confirm that they were not taking bookings and that I would get an e:mail in due course saying that my reservation was cancelled. I asked when this would be and she replied that did not know. I then asked why IHG had not informed me that the hotel was now unavailable but she had no answer.
As I had a non-refundable booking, I wanted assurance that I would not be charged and requested an e:mail to this effect. The agent said that she could not do this but reiterated that I would not be charged. I then said I would cancel the booking via the link on my reservation but she advised that if I did so then I would be charged!
This is appalling customer service. Had I not fortuitously spoken to my son I would have arrived at the hotel in June only to find that it was shut as others have reported.
I cannot understand how a reputable company such as IHG can treat its customers so badly.
I hope IHG will respond to this review especially as I am a member of their Club and have regularly stayed at their hotels previously. We all deserve an explanation.

My 13 yr old daughter and I had the same experience as others this summer. Booked the hotel in April and arrived after a very delayed train journey to find that the hotel was not open. Very helpful man at the hotel was very apologetic. He tried to find another IHG hotel for us but nothing was available. Ended up booking into a hotel costing over 3 times the price of the IHG booking (cheapest available at such short notice) and nearly missed the concert at Wembley. Despite numerous exchanges through customer care and reservations at IHG I am no nearer recouping my out of pocket expenses. Just saying sorry does not cut the mustard I am afraid. The reservation should never have been taken and I could have found something else nearer my budget, in a timely fashion. Shocking treatment of potential customers IHG. I have double checked my all my emails and there are none advising me of a cancellation. I have taken to trip advisor in the hope that some actual action will be taken rather than having to respond to standardised responses via email which whilst sympathetic do not help me pay for the hotel I ended up in due to IHG's poor customer care.

We made a booking months ago, for June. Got cancelled today with no alternative and due to it being summer and a big event happening nearby, most hotels are fully booked or extremely expensive. Tried contacting the call centre and got hung up on as well.

Hi NReeders, Thank you for making the IHG® Hotels and Resorts properties your preferred choice and for the candid feedback. While we appreciate your loyalty to our brand, what you described certainly is not the kind of experience we want any of our guests to have. We strive to offer everything our guests need and provide more where it matters most, but that did not happen. I am sorry for the letdown. I've communicated your sentiments with our management team for review and I've also sent you a private message to discuss this further. I hope to get another chance to host your next visit as we promise to make the value of your experience worth it for all the right reasons. Yours in hospitality, Jeraldine R. Case Manager IHG Service

This place deserves zero business going forward, and will definitely not get any of mine on future Wembley visits. I’d booked a single night stay to go and watch a concert in July at Wembley Stadium, the hotel was booked 3-4 weeks ago and they phoned me this afternoon to cancel the booking. Guess what, there’s nothing else available with any of the hotel chains locally on that date as they’ve all now been booked by fellow concert goers. All is not lost though as IHG’s poor guest management has forced me to look at Airbnb, and to my great surprise I’ve managed to obtain a stay in a luxury B&B with secure parking and an EV charger 200 metres from Wembley stadium for £20 more than the Hotel - your loss IHG. I’ve used Holiday inn Express for my business travel for 20 years and this is the first time they have cancelled on me
