Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Shabby decor needs complete refurbishment, indifferent staff, poor food at breakfast cold and uninspiring. Numerous far superior hotels at similar price point in this part of London. Picture below shows lift lobby, similar poor decor all over hotel. Rooms are similar to brand names budget hotels.

DONOT STAY HERE!!! WASTE OF MONEY!!! THEY HAVE REFUSED TO GIVE ME A REFUND! Even after speaking to the duty manager My issues were: No working TV throughout the duration of my stay. Reported to reception, but no one ever came to fix it. Air conditioning/ heating not working properly. Reported to reception, no one came to fix it! Had to open the window to regulate the temperature in the room, as it was extremely hot! Window only opened 1 inch, which did jot help. Plus, all the noise from outside. Resulting in both my husband and myself not being able to sleep all night. No shower gel/soap to have a shower. Again, Reported to reception, nothing was done about it. My husband had to go to the shop, and buy soap. So that we could have a shower. This hotel is advertised as 5 star, that's the reason I chose it! For £278, I expected to be able to have a shower and get a good night's sleep, for the least!

My wife and I had booked an afternoon tea in the courthouse Hotel on the 16th of February, and we are very happy we did, because we have been treated as we expected by all the staff in the reception, then they led us to the tea room section where they introduced us to the team working there, then Mr Ramadan seen us to the table by the window & made us comfortable, then he brought 2 glasses of Champaign & shortly after that he brought the selection of sandwich's, cakes, tea & coffee, very polite and with a smile very helpful at all times,

Stayed here for a couple of nights. Rooms were warm and comfortable, a bit dated perhaps but were clean and quiet. Shower was fine. Breakfast was adequate, freshly cooked & the staff on duty were friendly & attentive. Front of house staff were also pleasant & professional. There was some sort of function going on the one night we were there but even then the bar staff were doing their best, again polite at all times. Bar prices were more than I usually like to pay but hey it’s central London what do you expect? The location of the place is ideal for a shopping or theatre break. Plenty of places to eat nearby. Bear in mind that it is up a side street & not a tall building so don’t expect a ‘city’ view. Like others have said I wouldn’t class it as 5* and there are cheaper places to stay but I have no complaints from my visit.

Terrible stay. No hot water which had been off all day and we were not told when we checked in. Terrible sleep as very noisy. When complained about lack of hot water the manager said it wasn’t their fault as something had gone wrong. No discount offered for lack of hot water. Also worth noting the room is actually nice but the faux leather chaise was covered in a throw which hid the state of the chaise which was peeling. There are plenty of other better hotels in the region. This hotel is not worthy of 3 stars never mind 5.

Omg! This is not a 5*. Firstly the food was diabolical!!! There is an Indian restaurant with nobody in which straight away is alarm bells ringing!! Looking at the menu very obscure menu with Indian food that I’ve never heard of!, but that’s not the complaint is the fact that we ate in the bar area. Very minute menu with ridiculous prices. Ordered gougons and chips which was 20.00. French fries from McCain and Tesco looking gougons. Extremely slow service. Totally disorganised. A friend got what looked like an Iceland undercooked pizza. At breakfast took half an hour to get a pouched egg that was raw! Never again!!! Rooms were ok

On arrival the location took our breath away! Wow! Opposite Liberties! The staff were professional, warm and discreet, they were very attentive. The whole hotel was clean and spacious. We had a great nights sleep with a bed that was so huge it was epic! All the amenities we needed were in the room and we were in the heart of everything!

Amazing afternoon tea experience. Clive welcomed us with a broad smile and ensured that we were well looked after at the restaurant. There is a good variety of food items, especially the tea options. We went for masala chai, which came in small glasses traditional to how it is seved in India. I will visit again to try other food and drinks.
