Stayed here for one night on business. Had a superior room which was fine, basic, but clean and newly decorated I think. Comfortable bed. Great location close to the station which is handy, but was quite noisy late at night. Staff on reception were terse, the one man was possibly the most dour receptionist I've ever met, but efficient so... More

Good location. The hotel was very dated and a bit run down. I upgraded to a double room the single was just too small could not swing a cat. The breakfast room is small u need to get up early to avoid queuing

POSITIVES: Location - it is very close to London Paddington and the Underground. Price is good for central London where accommodation prices are exorbitant. A basic cooked or continental breakfast is provided in the cost. Bookings can be made for some London attractions at the reception desk. When we had to move rooms on the third day the guy at... More

For location for paddington this was ideal, but that's where it ends. The man on the desk whose English was non existent was rude and couldn't care less about the guest concerns. The carpets were threadbare and taped with gaffer tape to try to make them safer . The room was very shabby and mis matched and the windows were... More

I walked in to the hotel and they had 1 double room available. I was quite apprehensive of the hotel from its looks. Even the reception area was quite dull. But the moment I got into the room, it was quite a revelation. Good well lit clean spacious room. They charged GBP 90 including breakfast whereas neighbouring Mercure was charging... More

The only good point about this hotel is that it is next to Paddington Station. That is also a bad point as it is a very busy area and if you are a light sleeper you aren't going to get much sleep! The hotel has no working lift and therefore there is a very long walk up very steep stairs... More

The only thing in favour of this Hotel, is as highlighted by other Reviewers it's close proximity to Paddington Station, after that it is nearly all downhill. The outside has recently been painted, it's a pity they didn't do the inside at the same time. It was shame I paid before booking in otherwise I would having seen the rooms,... More

Not the biggest nor fanciest of hotels with very, very basic amenities. BUT, great location, just off Paddington station (exit towards Praed Street), and another 100-150 meters away. Staff were accommodating, and managed to bring my luggage up to the 2nd floor (elevator not working, which I assume has been a long while now given the same reviews in the... More

I read the reviews for this hotel and turned up with some trepidation. The location is superb, just a minute from Paddington Station and just across the road from our favourite pub, The Sawyers Arms. The staff were very polite and welcoming. The decor is tired, but nothing a lick of paint wouldn't cure. The room, it is small, but... More

This was my second experience at the Royal Norfolk and I found that the hotel is increasingly degraded. For example at this time the elevator was not working ... The best in this hotel is its excellent location, whether for walking whether for the tube or buses. The breakfast is also quite acceptable. Anyway, the Royal Norfolk for the price... More
