Stayed here for one evening when having a night out in South Kensington. Although the location is great, the hotel itself is shocking and probably the worst place I have ever stayed. It was like a hostel or children's home. Scruffy, worn, smelly, outdated and generally very very unpleasant. My husband wanted to sleep in his clothes it was so... More

My room was for one person but contained 4 beds. It was large and cold. The receptionist when I checked in told me to leave the portable heating on all day even when I was out the room so it would heat up the room. The second day of my stay i at least had a warmish room, however whenever... More

We were here for 6 nights and the stay was almost perfect. The hotel has an amazing locations. The room was clean, very cosy and comfortable, with beatiful view. The bathroom facilities need renovating, but they were also clean. The breakfast isn't too much, but just enough. The only problem was that, one of the bathrooms on the upper floor had a plumbing... More

inside the building is very old, there are a lots of crooked stairs, no soap in the toilets, noisy wooden floor, very poor breakfast (no biscuits, no yogurt, no fruits). it looks more a hostel than a hotel. for young people or students is fine, NOT for families.

More than pleasantly surprised by this place, given the reviews, but what do people expect for the price?! £55 for a twin room, it was clean and in a really nice location (to be honest when walking from Gloucester road tube station we thought we must have the wrong place!). No problems getting into the shared bathrooms, which were clean... More

The hotel was in a good quiet area, close to Gloucester Road tube station. The room was basic but the beds were comfortable and clean, there was a heater so the room was warm enough. The staff were friendly, and there is luggage storage available. Lots of stairs, so be warned, breakfast is tea, coffee, cereal and toast- that you... More

I stayed at this "hotel" with my daughter, visiting London for the weekend .This place is so dated that I was transported back to a 1970 s bedsit .Although the place is clean ,the decor is grim. I think it is fair to say that if this place was called a hostel, the trade descriptions act would not have been breached .... More

I stay at this hotel/hostel regularly. It is not as grand as the photos imply but if your budget is low, it is good value. It is perfectly comfortable, and we have even stayed in the dungeon room next to the dining room, and survived to tell the tale. The closest tube is Gloucester Rd, which is on the Picadilly... More

Booked three months in advance for a serviced apartment with a small kitchenette area (refrigerator, cooker, sink and microwave). When I got there, we were put in what could only be described as a uni student dorm! In fact, scrub that, students wouldnt even put up with the accommodation on offer! There were 4 single beds, mattresses that would make... More

The trip advisor reviews for this place are unfair - its a clean midrnge hostel with nice staff and a good kitchen dining room area. Free wifi, decent breakfast (cereal and toast) and nicer people than you find in the budget places. Good value place on a Friday / Saturday night @ £20 per night
