Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My family booked into this hotel for one night. The place is a bit run down, needs some upgrading. The room we stayed in had cobwebs and a roller blind left lying around. The fridge was making an awful noise all night. We parked the car in the car park and was told to pay £20 for the parking when we were ready to check out! It was not transparent that this was extra when we booked and the receptionist did not mention that car parked at the hotel will be charged. Then the receptionist mentioned it's all in terms and conditions which we could not find it or one has to search through the terms and conditions with a fine comb! We will never go back there again as the staff don't act professionally and it's the worst hotel we have stayed in England!

Seriously the photos look nothing like this hotel. I’ve often used Hotel Tonight to book lovely hotels at short notice. This hotel is dated, curtains didn’t fit window and were hanging off. To be fair they did fix them when I complained. The furniture was tatty and battered and the floors old and tired. Last of all they charged me £25 for a lost key which only encouraged me to make sure that I left my feedback on here as I thought that was poor!

A weekend in London with a sleeping place in the new london carlton. First impression on arrival at the hotel was positive ! The chekin was also ran smoothly ! only the person at the chekin was not very social and not much information was given. The room was very cozy and pleasant! but the bathroom needs a refreshment... The shower was damaged, silicone was rotten,... no extraction for vapor present, this also caused a strange smell. there was also a tuft of hair in one of the towels. No further comments ! it was a pleasant stay ! ! ! if the owners read this: renovate the bathroom a little, pay attention to the towels and everyone will be happy.Because I see in the other reactions that this is even more common. Also walk along to the room is also pleasant for every visitor ;-) Room: 12

We had a very comfortable night at the new London Carlton hotel. Our family room was like a mini apartment. Very spacious and had all the amenities we needed and we would have been very happy to stay for a longer break here. Great location, very quiet and an absolutely beautiful breakfast, we both agreed one of the best we’ve had in a hotel, and we travel a lot! Great value for money, a great little find. We would definitely return

Where do I start! The two men at the reception desk were SO RUDE. When we checked in they didn’t tell us where our room was, tell us what check out time was etc, we had to ask him a variety of all these questions due to no information given to us. They also apparently don’t know how to smile, or have any manners whatsoever. We arrived at our room to a leaky shower screen where the water was pouring out the sides, so therefore bathroom flooded when taking a shower. Not to mention, the shower head didn’t even work properly, it was like a dripping tap. There was also NO air con in the room, but on the website it said there is???? We had this tiny fan on the bedside table that was blowing out hot air. The windows opened, but again it was just hot air coming through as it was 25 degrees outside. Went for breakfast the next morning, which we’d paid extra for when booking, to be told that all we were allowed was toast and cereal!!!!!! To have a full English breakfast we were to pay £4 extra EACH a day. We then looked at the breakfast menu they had there and the price difference between the toast/cereal and the full English was £1. The Hoover was also left on the stairs for the whole 3 days we were there, which could of easily been a trip hazard. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in, please avoid for your own good. If I could give 0 rating, I would. Ruined my whole London experience.

This hotel is extremely disappointing, the rooms and bathroom are NOT clean. The breakfast and service are diabolical, not blaming the sole worker, there needed to be a team serving the very basic breakfast. Cleaning trolleys and vacuums were left on floor landings and the lift, although we didn’t need to utilise it, wasn’t working the three nights we stayed.

Can’t believe what has happened to this hotel, everything was wrong, the bathroom was absolutely dirty, there was a hole in side of shower and an iron burn on the carpet. When we complained the customer service was atrocious we will never stay there again, I would not recommend it.

I stayed at this hotel in summer and was given a room on the top floor, it was boiling hot so much so that I couldn't sleep properly. There was no fan or air conditioning and the room was airless, so not a great choice for summer. It's quite a long walk from the tube station in Maida Vale, however this property is actually closer to Kilburn and is on a very busy street and was noisy. Altogether a disappointing stay and I wouldn't choose this hotel again.

They are nothing but thieves I understand there terms and conditions but I made a mistake on the booking it’s not like they couldn’t fill the room !!! I am not happy with booking.com or this so called hotel AVOID AVOID AVOID 😡😡😡

Thank you for choosing to book with, but please make sure you check your dates next time you're making a reservation. Don't call us thieves because you can't read to make you feel better about yourself. The booking did clearly say non refundable and we assumed you could read the terms and condition. But that wasn't the case and we apologise for that. Kind regards

Checked into our room and it just seemed to be problem after problem in the room we stayed in. Firstly went to open the window and it was broken (it was still opening when the handle was fully shut down), then realised there was no lamp in the room so we had to either have the ceiling light on or none at all. Went to use the iron which was a shambles, couldn't get the board up properly as it seemed to be broken... and then the iron was pouring out water on to my clothes.... luckily I had extra clothes to wear instead. They charge a £100 deposit on arrival to ensure there is no damage to the room etc... which left me baffled at why we had a list of broken things in our room? Just a total disaster of a hotel that needs to be refurnished and fixed up to suit the price they are charging. Such a shame as the hotel is a great central location and the reception staff were great when we were checking in and out. Definitely won't be back.
