Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really lovely hotel with brilliant sea view rooms, very clean, staff pleasant and location ideal for beach. Also near a carpark. Breakfast was lovely and excellent value for our stay. Only issue was shower was too hot and struggled to get temperature down but I’m sure this will be sorted. The hotel even had a fan and bottles of water on a room which we were grateful for. Would recommend for couples.

Party of 5 girls stayed at the North Ocean Hotel for one night over the August bank holiday weekend. On arrival to reception, we were greeted by a professional, pleasant chap, who allowed us to keep our belongings in a safe and secure place, whilst we ventured out to the pleasure beach for the day. Arrived back at the hotel at around 17:00pm, where we were invited to join a birthday party hosted by the hotel. There was a delicious spread of food on offer and a top class singer providing outstanding entertainment. We then headed up to our rooms (one twin + one triple): both rooms very spacious, modern, clean and offered beautiful scenic views. The showers in both rooms were powerful and easy to use. Large, luxury towels provided too with a complimentary bottle of water. Will definitely return and book for more nights next time. Great value for money, this hotel should be a 5 star rating.

Staff: amazingly polite, always welcoming with a smile.
Hotel: Clean & I came early and luckily they was ready to check me in.
Breakfast: Great continental spread, and decent quality full english with plenty choice.
Room: Small but the bed was comfy, electric heater responsive, New flat TV and channels, floor needed a hoover.
Bathroom: perfectly clean, towels for body and floor. Hot water took 5 seconds to come hot.
Internet Speed: 25MB Download, 10MB Upload speeds.
Location: 20 minute walk from Blackpool North - but very nice and quiet by the beach. but not many places to eat out close by that's not a pub or cafe.

9/10 - I am very peculiar about affordable hotel rooms but I felt very relaxed and safe here. I would visit again.

I was in Blackpool for the half marathon so this hotel was in a great location for that as it is within walking distance of the start/finish lines. It has been a while since my last visit to this resort & I have stayed in various b & b’s over the years but this one holds it’s own. I opted for a single en-suite room which was compact but clean & comfortable for a few nights. There are a few free parking spots at the front of the hotel but first come first served. There was free quick wi-fi which is a bonus & it was free breakfast with my deal. There was no cooked breakfast option due to time of year, so I was told however there was a choice of products which were adequate & set me up on a morning. In the room there was tea/coffee making facilities, biscuits & a bottle of water waiting for me. Comfortable bed & heating which you could control. There was towels, hand wash, toilet roll & lotion for the shower to use. I did get some good rest thankfully which helped my running/recovery. There was a freeview tv & remote to use for free & big enough for the room. I felt safe/secure there as a solo female visiting which is a bonus for me.
If I was being picky the shower pressure was not great in the shower & on one of the morning’s at breakfast it was rather rowdy & a few choice words were being used however the plus point of this hotel are the staff so I would re-use the hotel if I was going back to do the half marathon in the future as it was worth the money and practicable.

This hotel was in a great location at the North, very short walk up from the Tower. It was spacious downstairs for meals and breakfast. The room was surprisingly big and the place was very clean. Bathroom was great, nice shower etc and we even had a little terrace/balcony which we could access from our room overlooking the seaside 🌊😍

Breakfast was a standard full English brekki no disappointment there 😀

Overall very surprised by an absolute bargain

I have been very poorly from long covid and me and my partner thought a nice relaxed seaside visit would be perfect for me. The photos on the booking site I used were so misleading! Our room/cell was based on the third floor, no lift available as I have difficulty with stairs now, after making it to the room me and my partner just looked at each other with wide eyes and could only assume this was a joke, it was filthy the only thing that had been cleaned was fresh bedding was on I guess, however everythin else was falling apart everything broken and filthy, the sink falling off the wall, wires sticking out of the walls the worst musty damp smell, my partner picked up handfuls of hair from the carpet it couldn’t of ever been hooverd since being built, we asked if we could move as we requested sea view and all we got was the view of the alley way, luckily the windows were filthy so it blocked our view some what. They said that there was jo way as they were fully booked (didn’t believe this as nobody was around at all)
I hate to complain so we just tried to go out and enjoy our night anyway, we came back and had maybe two hours sleep the room was freezing and we could hear every move or breath people made below us. We were told the breakfast was on between 8:30 and 10:30.. we were wary of even having breakfast from there with how dirty it was but we thought we have paid £65 for this experiance we should get the breakfast, the man with a stinking attitude told us we had missed breakfast at 10am so we had to go out and buy breakfast from somewhere else, I don’t expect posh and lavish things for the price at all but I also do not expect to come away from a hotel stay feeling let down and poorly, with covid etc I can’t believe it’s allowed to be so so filthy and nothing in place for disabled or elderly people. Do not stay here!! I have never written a review but I couldn’t not with this one!

We booked our night away to Blackpool on booking.com to stay at the North ocean hotel, the photos online made us think this would be the perfect location and place to stay for our night away. How wrong were we! On arrival we went into a dark entrance and was greeted by a young lad who informed us we were on the top floor. Normally this wouldn't bother me but the stairwells were very narrow and very steep, once we got to the top floor where their was a lot of workmen gutting out most of the bedrooms, we had to ask them to stand aside whilst we got along the narrow corridor to our room and they made us feel that we were a hindrance to them.
The first impression of our room was that it was disgusting! The bedding was dirty, the curtains was filthy, the bathroom was grimy, even the welcome sheet with breakfast times etc. That was laminated clearly had never been wiped clean as it was covered in sticky dirt.
We decided that their was no way we could stay here for the night, so went out and found alternative accommodation and returned to get our luggage and check out, as we got back to our room a workman followed us along the corridor and came up to the door with us and insisted he needed to come in to check our fire alarm as he was doing checks, as I opened the door he let himself in to do his check with his colleague standing by the door, we got our luggage and checked out, the young girl at the reception asked us if everything was OK, I just needed to get out so said we had to go. I didn't even know what to say as I was astonished that a place could be this bad! I've always said the two main things that I expect from a hotel would be that it's safe and that it's clean, I felt this hotel was definitely not safe and was the dirtiest place I've ever seen. Do not waste time or money booking the North ocean hotel!

Lovely hotel very friendly staff. The owner Jey and her son Cody go above and beyond to make your stay very comfortable and enjoyable, and no request wasnt met, rooms have WiFi and fresh bottled water also brew making stuff were freely available. Breakfast was enjoyable and various options meant every different taste was catered for. we stayed in room 10 which had a balcony with a sea view which made our stay more enjoyable, we will definitely be coming back.
Thank you Jey, Cody and other staff members for making our stay so enjoyable.

We had an over night stay here. On arrival the man behind the desk didn’t say a word and really didn’t em to know what he was doing. We got to our room and actually had to ask for someone to come and clean it. The shower had hair and shampoo on the bottom. The headboard was full of dust and it had a funny smell in the room. A fella came up straight away and cleaned it best he could. The rooms really need updating. The beds have springs popping up, the furniture is tired and the carpets have pain on them. It’s not very pleasant and really wouldn’t ever stay here again.

AVOID . DISGUSTING! Full place was filthy. Blood on hand towel and on duvet. Carpet in room filthy. Dusty room . Could hardly see out the widows. Two bath towels in 4 nights stay for two people, anytime I asked for another towel they said they had none, most the time the cutlery was dirty. Dinner was plated up like a dogs dinner just all thrown on. Curtain in room was hanging off the rail. The list goes on. Don't waste your money go elsewhere. I would rather of camped on the beach to be honest it was that bad.
