This Travelodge is excellent. Room was clean and tidy with pile on the towels! Excelolent price when booked well in advance. Staff were friendly and keen to help. Windows were being replaced whist we were there but all worked stopped at 5 so no disruptions. Pity all Travelodges couldn't be like this one. Little Chef next door for meals if... More

The whloe lodge has been refurbished. This includes all the points previously highlighted as being failings. Repainted, all rooms redecorated, new, higher, solider Sleepeezee beds with thicker mattresses an 2 pillows each and 2 chairs to sit on in each room. Modern, flat-screen tvs and new baths. The staff have obviously been told that their customer ratings matter and their... More

Decided to stay here - a late decision but I've stayed in many travelodges and this was cheaper on the Saturday than Todhills just up the road. They're a budget chain - Travelodges are all basic and dated at the moment but this was worse than most. The tv was old fashioned and the remote stuck together with sellotape -... More

As this chain of hotels is the only one that welcomes dogs, decided to give it a try after being severely disappointed by many of Travelodge hotels throughout the uk. For the first time in a Travelodge we were greater by a warm welcome and a very helpfully receptionist. The rooms were clean and another pleasant surprise the remote control... More

Have stayed in Travelodges in London with no problems. Booked for 3 nights whilst in Penrith for a family wedding. Worst mistake ever. It has to be the grottiest one ever! Checked in late Friday evening had to ask for towels, and milks and teabags! following day the room was not serviced, came back from the wedding celebrations to bed... More

Since there wasn't a Premier Inn nearby we thought we would take a chance with a Travelodge. Thankfully before committing to the stay we asked to see a room, after being escorted to a standard room, we turned tail and ran. Don't stay here, take a little more time and drive into Glenridding or another nearby location.

Very friendly welcome on arrival, lady on the desk passed on all the relevant info for our stay and told us what was available locally. Hotel was in a quiet location in need of a little touch up here and there, ideally placed for the M6 and not to far away from Keswick and Ulswater etc. If you go you... More

i stayed at this hotel and when approaching it looked like some old run down council flats, when inside i was greeted by a lovely man, he was very friendly and helpful. He offered me a breakfast bag delivered outside my room for £4.50 which seemed a bit pricey when there was a little chef across the road for a... More

we usually stay in premier inns which are always dependable, but as there isn't one in penrith we opted for the travel lodge stayed one night only, never again. dirty and unkempt, had to ask for towels and pillows. dreadful!!!!! if it hadn't been for the late hour we would have moved on.

It's a long while since I stayed in a Travelodge and I will not be staying in one again. The room was shabby, dated and un-cared for. The sofa bed covering was ripped along the seam, the heater hardly worked, the bathroom taps were corroded and caked in limescale, the tile grout was stained and discoloured, to set the shower you...
