This pub/guest house gets better and better. It used to be very poor until the latest couple took it over about three years ago and wow what a difference. Food is now excellent espically if you like a hearty meal after a long walk. Bar is warm and friendly, log fire and good atmosphere. The only downside was no wifi.... More

We stayed in Hawkshead for 3 nights and had a meal in the Red Lion and a few drinks. The land lady was more than accommodating when I didn't want dairy in my food and changed the menu to suit my needs. Always grateful for this. Nice food and friendly pub. More

Everytime myself and my fiance go for a weekend to Hawkshead, we only stay at the red lion inn. Have known Lynn and Paul for a while, and they are perfect hosts, always friendly and welcoming.
