Stayed for 2 nights but could easily have moved in! Friendly and welcoming staff, great local banter and an atmosphere you usually want but rarely find in a country pub. As if that's not enough the ale is fantastic as well. But the food .......... ? That is in a league of its own. I've eaten in some expensive, posh... More

The Church House Inn is such a lovely pub, cosy fire and really great atmosphere. The staff are welcoming and personable. The quiz night is great fun. The food in the restaurant is lovely. I only wished we stayed there because it would have been nice to spend the evening downstairs before heading to bed upstairs. More

Stayed here for 2 nights and requested the only room with a bath (Room 2) - the inn itself is old so expect non standard room sizes but thats what appealed to us. Our room was fairly small but opened out into another small room with another single bed leading to the bathroom - the floors are very uneven and... More

I can't comment on the rooms as we only went for a meal. However the food far surpassed our expectations. By far the best restaurant meal we nhave eaten in a long time. I had the starter of scallops and belly pork and my wife the tarte tatin. The flavours in both were marvellous. For mains I had the lamb... More

Was looking forward to going to Church House as it has such good reviews. Couldn't fault the food at all it was brilliant but the place itself is very tired looking, we sat in the snug and there was no atmosphere at all, it was like being in a b&b and having to whisper, the only noise was the coming... we have actually found a place we will go back to time and time again. The rooms do need some updating, but they are comfortable and spotlessly clean, the staff are extremely friendly and the food is sublime, my hubby said it was the best breakfast he has had. and the fish pie was beautiful. The next time we go... More
