Great central location. Good as a base to explore the lakes but by no means a luxury hotel, dont expect any luxuries. It is quite cheap and basic but as a base for walkers that's fine with me. Breakfast was good too.

We stayed at Norwood House for 4 nights recently and enjoyed the comfortable feel of the house, the breakfast and the owner Keith! Parking was available a short walk from the guest house. Starting with the house - very relaxed with wifi available, a good selection of local walking trail books, comfortable beds and lovely hot radiators to warm up... More

Unfortunately for our brief stay it rained the whole time, so we didn't see the best of the area, but our room was great, bed comfortable and the room was very clean. The full English breakfast was very good, with choices to suit any taste.

We booked a stay in the Lakes for our 10th Wedding Anniversary. Norwood House is a very warm, inviting place to stay and the friendliness and service from the owners was second to none. The full English breakfast certainly set us up for the cycling and walking!!! We would definitely recommend Norwood House to others.

Stayed for two nights at Norwood House. Keith and Lynsey are a very welcoming couple and the Guest House is very comfortable. Breakfasts are superb. Would recommend for a nice central location in the lovely town of Ambleside.

I cannot fault the standard of accommodation and hospitality at Norwood House. We stayed with two other couples and we each had high standard rooms with every comfort.
