We stayed for three days, in the Brathay Suite. With spectacular views this is a beautiful house, with some very fine features and furniture from its Arts and Crafts origins, but is no museum piece. The bedroom came with some very elegant French antique furniture, the bathroom was well equipped and there were lots of nice touches, ie a proper sewing... More

We had 3 nights here in January and found nanny brow so relaxing, welcoming and a real home from home. The house is gorgeous a real Arts and craft gem and so beautifully conserved, renovated and furnished in keeping with the style without missing out on modern comforts. We were made to feel so welcome by Sue, Peter - thanks for... More

Me and my girlfriend stayed for 2 nights on a weekend away in the Lakes. I saw Nanny Brow on the internet yet few had heard of the place (was only re-opened in 2010 as a B&B). We assumed it was going to be your average B&B but were fairly surprised by what we found. Its set on a hill... More

We recently stayed at Nanny Brow for 5 days. Having very little holiday every year, we spent considerable amount of time researching various places in the Lake District to find the perfect spot to enjoy our holidays. We've got to admit that Nanny Brow is a truly spectacular place. It's been refurbished to the highest standard, keeping with stunning period... More

My partner was left with the challenge of finding a place to keep me happy on my 40th birthday, which incidentally coincides with New Year so no pressure there. It was fortunate then that he found Nanny Brow and had it sewn up. A perfect mix of hospitality, luxury and location, drizzled in champagne and a cake with a truffle... More

The first thing I have to say is this: the people who run this place are simply made of all of the right stuff; somehow, despite the fact they run such a wonderful place, they remain unaffected (with airs and graces) and clearly have a passion for communicating with their customers in the most delightful way. Moreover, these people care... More

What a lovely place to stay. The hotel, the rooms, the location & views, the peace & quiet, the breakfasts and the family who run the hotel... all first rate, top quality, welcoming & friendly. Nanny Brow is a very special place that we will certainly return to. Robert & Ann Davison More

First time ever writing a review online, but we felt we had to for our stay in Nanny Brow. A wonderful long weekend in the Lakes and the perfect B&B. We stayed in the Skelwith room which has spectacular views of the river and mountains. Welcomed warmly from the minute we arrived, Sue and Mark could not have been more... More

Brilliant hotel, very warm welcome. Lovely food and the added little touches for example cake in room for afternoon tea was a brilliant homely addition. Would recommed 100% More
