We booked late to stay in Canterbury so I could go shopping. We booked a room with the view of the cathedral and also a parking space. When we arrived at reception we had a very friendly greeting and book in was very easy. The room was spotless and so comfortable. At night we walked round the ground s of... More

This hotel provided a delightful stay, once we found it! The hotel is virtually on the grounds of the Canterbury Cathedral, with beautiful gardens and buildings everywhere. The rooms are modern and spacious; the service and food were excellent. The town itself is also quite beautiful. The only problem was trying to find the entrance to the hotel with a... More

We stayed for 1 night mid week at costing £99 b&b in a 1st floor cathedral view room with bay window seating area. The room was very pleasant, had wheelchair space, and had a wonderful view of both the manicured gardens and cathedral. The bathroom had shower cubicle, heated towel rail and vanity style sink & wc - on the... More

What a joy our visit was. This is a truly unique hotel; not many can boast that they have Canterbury Cathedral on their doorstep (literally). A pervasive atmosphere of history augmented our stay and free access to the Cathedral was the cherry atop our booking. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and modern. We had en suite facilities that were... More

So I had to attend a conference in Canterbury... Decided at the very last minute( night before my visit to canterbury) that its best to stay over rather than commute. Called a few hotels, one of which was this. I was informed the only room available was the "value" lodge... And that included the breakfast. Price was ok plus it... More

Stayed at the Lodge for 1 night in May this year and on the positive side the location in the grounds of the cathedral and in the middle of town is superb. The views from the room, especially at night make this a unique hotel. The rooms were nicely appointed in terms of quality of the fittings and it was... More

Spent four nights at the Lodge. Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. We arrived late and had a bit of trouble finding it but one phone call to them set it all to rights. Room was comfortable and modern with a view of the cathedral. Lovely to hear the cathedral bells and explore the grounds, Cathedral and old city.... More

As a senior solo traveler on her first visit to Canterbury, I chose to stay at the Canterbury Cathedral Lodge to be close to the center of town. It is truely a unique experience to stay in this hotel inside the grounds of the ancient Canterbury catherdral - the fact the precinct is closed to the public a 9.30pm means you can wander the historical precinct as if you have your own private viewing. The hotel itself is set in beautifully kept gardens and has warm and welcoming... More

Set in the very grounds of the cathedral with wonderful views across the garden.
