Although we enjoyed our stay here we were not as thrilled as we had expected to be (after reading reviews). Admittedly it was a very "off season" period, but the place lacked any fizz or ambiance and the one evening we ate in the dining room, we were the only ones there. Dinner was good for the money and was... More

Kevin and Julia, the owners of Harestock lodge, claim to offer "quality service at reasonable prices with a quiet ambiance" they certainly achieve this. The service in all areas is faultless, and (as is necessary in the current financial climate) all of the staff are able to multi-task. The quality of the food and service in the restaurant far exceeded... More

Clean, comfortable, warm and spacious room with a generous en suite. The staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. The food was extremely good as was the service, even though the hotel was catering for a large party that evening. We would definitely recommend, and visit again. More

We have visited the Harestock Lodge on a number of occasions now and have never been disappointed. The Hotel doesn't look anything special from the outside, but the dining room is delightful, the food is always good with a choice of three courses, and service is always first class. Above all, their Sunday lunches are excellent value for money. As... More

Most of the staff were helpful although the room was terrible. We had a twin room and clearly should have booked a deluxe room. The sheets had holes, no mattress protectors, bed springs in your back - which meant I ended up with a very painful back injury. No tissues but the offer of an extra roll of toilet paper... More

The test of any hotel starts with the beds so when the matress is squeaky and you can feel the springs, then you notice there is nothing between the threadbare sheet and the vintage matress and the sheet has holes in it you get a kind of third world feeling. Asking for a box of tissues gets you a "oo... More

We had a family and friends meal for 35 ( 3 of whom were young children.)The food was good and the children and one person with an allergy to all dairy products was well catered for. The service was slick and team obviously worked well together. All round a most pleasant experience and one to be repeated at some stage. More

We stayed in July of this year. Our room was lovely of almost Victorian decor and was fairly large with one four poster bed and two singles over-looking the Hotel's garden. There was a large plasma tv also on the wall above the central attractive ye olde style fire place. It was only a five minute drive into Winchester so... More

Nice staff, very friendly with all round good service and food. Only negative is that its a bit out of town, but you know that when you book and it wasn't a problem for us. More
