We have now stayed at this hotel/B&B twice and would never stay anywhere else in Torquay - we always stay in room number 6 with the 4 poster bed and the room is lovely. Breakfast time is the best feature at this hotel as the mother-in-law who helps out at breakfast is fantastic, so funny and really makes it an... More

Totally enjoyed our stay at Ferndale. Welcoming, hospitable and spotless. Short walk to the shops/harbour and well connected bus stop close by. We would certainly stop here again in the future - thanks very much for a memorable weekend, superb breakfasts and great banter! More

The Ferndale was all we could ask for from a B&B! The breakfast was excellent. The room was great and we were even surprised how good the linen on the bed etc was...First rate! Would recommend the Ferndale to anyone. The best kept and probably biggest asset by staying at the Ferndale is the Manager's Mother in Law Joan. She... More

Clean, tidy and well-located, Ferndale did the job for a weekend break away. Manager was polite and welcoming and suggested a range of places nearby to visit - very helpful indeed! Decent breakfast at a very reasonable rate. Would definitely recommend! More

We are a family of two adults and two smaill children aged 4 and 7. One of the most important things for us in places we stay is the welcome shown to the children and the understanding that they can sometimes be a bit excitable in new places. At Ferndale the children could not have been accepted more. We enjoyed... More

Lovely bright clean room. A little on the small side but that was due to my partner being so tall that the proprietor thought he might bump his head in the alternative room! He showed us both options and then let us decide. He was extremely helpful and friendly, and annotated a map of the area for us as soon... More

We only stopped a single night but have nothing but good things to say about this charming hotel. It's located in a quiet area of Torquay, but still only 10 minutes walk (downhill!) from the harbour. We were able to book over the internet - unlike a lot of hotels in Torquay where you have to call. All the staff... More
