Stayed here with a group of divers. The rooms are basic but clean and nice and cosy (very important when you've been diving all day!!). The pub is lovely - very friendly, cosy atmosphere and the food is great (and plentiful). Breakfast is also generously sized with a selection of cereals and cooked breakfast made to order. The pub is... More

Stayed here a couple of times whilst diving with a group. Rooms are basic and clean but looking a little tired. Breakfast is good but the ubiquitous industrial sausage could be bettered. The pub is great. A wide selection of well kept ales, wide food menu with hearty portions and usually 3 or four curries as well. I shall return. More

Good value for money. Barry and Liz are excellent hosts, so friendly and make you feel part of their family. Food was excellent. Fantastically relaxed atmosphere. Great view of the harbour from our room. Definitely recommended. Thanks go to their son who loaned me his iphone charger every night. More

A lovely bed and breakfast away from the madding crowds. The breakfasts were excellent as were our hosts Barry and Liz , drank and ate in the Pub and the food was yummy. Barry was also very helpful when we couldn't decide which local beer to try. Good value for money with some lovely walks on the doorstep, which was... More

We visited the "Borri" with friends and had a fantastic meal and some great beers in a traditional pub overlooking the river. All the food was home made, with great attention to detail. The rack of ribs were massive and tender, the steak and Stilton pie tasted wonderful and the cod and chips was delicious. There was a big selection... More

I stayed over in December as I was performing in Plymouth. The pub itself is lovely and the beers even lovelier. Barry was a great host and I enjoyed a convivial afternoon. My room was spotlessly clean and a world away from the off the shelf chain hotels I often find myself in. Though not ensuite It was a pleasure... More

Live locally so haven't stayed, but have frequently eaten and drunk in this highly thought of old village inn, now in a fashionable suburb close to the Plym estuary. For a decade or more known as an hospitable real ale pub with generous and tasty pub food, there seems to have been some slight faltering. The excellent range of tasty... More

Stayed here alone on business and paid £35 for a room with a double bed. The pub is tricky to reach involving driving in narrow alleys. It is in a little fishing villlage across the harbour from Plymouth itself, and retains an unspoilt village atmosphere, despite the Ministry of Defence being based nearby. There are two village car parks, and... More

Stayed at the Boringdon Arms for 2 nights while attending a wedding in the area. I have to say that Barry and Liz are two of the most hospitable, friendly and helpful proprietors I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying with. The accommodation is fairly basic but very clean, no en-suite but never found the sharing of toilets and showers... More
