My wife and I have stayed at The Lynton Cottage Hotel 5 times in the past 7 years and will return again because the place has some of the best views and wonderful food. The name 'Cottage' suggests old and quaint and it is. However, arrive stressed from your journey , park up and get out of your vehicle, look at... More

Spent 3 nights at this lovely old hotel. The location and views are spectacular. Our room (5) had a panoramic view over Lynmouth bay with floor to ceiling windows so you could just sit and gaze at the view. The room was nicely decorated with everything you'd expect and a corner bath that we didn't! The room was warm and... More

Once again I arrived at the Lynton Cottage Hotel and had a great stay. I like going to this Hotel because when I want to get away from the rat race and just relax and switch off this Hotel is perfect for me. I like the great views from my window and just wanting to relax in the comfortable lounge... More

Sadly this ideally situated hotel did not live up to the image given by the web site. It was tired and faded, and far from warm and friendly. When we arrived we were not made to feel welcome ( the word was never uttered). We were not properly shown our room, or around the hotel. The bar was cold and... More

Made very welcome by charming hosts. Had upgrade to a superior room which had a fantastic view of the sea and surroundings. Food was excellent and very reasonable price wise. Assuming it doesn't change hands would love to return. More

The hotel has wonderful views from the grounds and from the room that we occupied. We found it very cold in our rooms as the weather was wet and windy with little or no sun and when we returned after our day out we would have liked heating to have been on. The heating eventually came on at about 6-00pm... More

As regular travellers all around the world this hotel still remains one of our favourite hotels for a short break. This was our fourth visit within the last ten years and the hotel still attracts us with its irresistable country residence charm. The views remain breathtaking from all angles of the hotel grounds and particularly from the bedrooms. This time... More

We stayed at this hotel for two evenings. Whilst it was clean, the cost was expensive considering the facilities and the standard of accommodation. Over the period of one week we stayed in several b&bs which had far superior bedrooms and bathrooms at half of the cost. Considering the price of the rooms, we were reluctant to eat in the... More

This is our 4th stay at The Cottage, we love the views and walks from the hotel but the rooms are looking tired. Our bathroom has the same split bath panel it had 3 years ago (i remember watching the Olympics early in the morn from beijing), it could do with a face lift, however if u want somewhere that... Stayed as a couple here in the four poster room. The room was a bit dated but clean. I love country hotels and am never put off by the quirky or even tired decoration however the greeting on arrival was very plain and uninteresting! We had booked for dinner at 7.20pm exactly and were told to arrive 10 mins before... More
