My family and a group of our friends travelled down to Devon and spent New Year in The Crown. The landlord and landlady, Phil and Carol couldn't have been more welcoming and looked after us all brilliantly. Our children loved the experience and even made some lovely new friends. The locals are some of the nicest and funniest people I... More

Dropped into Lynton to take a look on a dank day in December, and stumbled across The Crown. Friendly welcome from the landlord and barman and a welcoming fire enticed us to stay for lunch. Fish and chips, whitebait, washed down with cider; followed by enormous puddings (what diet??) and coffee necessitated a rigorous walk along the cliff top afterwards,... More

Myself and my partner have recently had the most awful experience of booking at this hotel. On arriving, even though booked two months in advance, there was no record of us arriving. On entering the premises, the bar was occupied with whom I assume to be locals who made us feel exceedingly uncomfortable. We then asked for our keys etc... More

We stopped here for one night on our way to Combe Martin, and yeah the bed was a little lumpy and the rooms could possibly do with a lick of paint here and there, but wow what a fantastic atmosphere this place has.... the locals friendly and come on face it you too have to make an effort, we had... After a bad experience at the pub down the road we came here and were delighted to find a true gem of a pub! The food was lovely and the real ale were spot on! Proper pub food and good beer.. what more could you want? More

Never again will I let my hubby book a hotel! The Crown at Lynton awful in the extreme! £65.00 per night B&B. First room we were shown was horrendous 1 double 2 singles with stained bedcovers, one of the single beds had collapsed as the casters were splayed out at the side! This looked like a doss house. Damp mould... More

We decided to pop in for a drink whilst touring the area. We used the bar at the side of the hotel adjacent to the patio area which together with the hotel frontage looked quite inviting. As they say sometimes looks can be deceiving. I felt discriminated against as I had to wait whilst two of the locals were served... More

We always serve all customers, in order whether it be a local or a holidaymaker, so find it hard to believe that one of our bar staff would ignore any customer in favour of another. Coffee and tea our always available, at anytime of day or evening. We were inspected by cask marque for our real ales in September 2011,... More

We are a young couple in our late 20's. We went to the hotel to meet with family who were already staying there. When we arrived they hadn't prepared a room for us, they didn't seem to even have it noted down, even though it had been booked for some time and our family had spoken to them about our... More

We booked this at the last minute and needed somewhere that would let us bring the dog. Looked at a few places on the internet, but was suprised at the value of this place. It is centrally located and the bar is great. The banter from the bar staff and the great decor made for an enjoyable evening. They had... More
