Location was lovely and bar staff were good. However, we didn't think the place was very clean and smelt of dogs. Not being a very big fan this place really wasn't for me. The dogs ran wherever they wanted and no-one stopped them coming up to you.

Thread bare carpets up the stairs, stayed in room three. Curtain hanging off the rail, damp and mould on walls, bathroom door did not shut properly, light worked intermittently, paint peeling off the ceiling in bathroom. Net curtains looked a bit grey. Overall, a disappointing room that could do with a bit of updating. Maybe other rooms are ok! Lovely... More

Just got back from a perfect break in Lynmouth. The Village Inn is perfect with friendly staff and locals. The Onesie party was just what was needed to end the break nicely. Good food and good beer with a really friendly atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff or customers. Alreay booked another trip down as... More

We had a lovely stay at the village inn, Beverley and Razor are very friendly and the staff are really nice. The village inn is in the heart of Lynmouth so everything is on your doorstep. The room we had was a good size and had a large en-suite we also had lovely sea views. Beverley is a great cook... More

This was quite simply a superb weekend. It was the first time I had been to Lynmouth and what a beautiful place it is. The experience however was greatly enhanced by the wonderful hospitality of Bev & Razor (Mark) who made us feel like one of their regulars, nothing was too much trouble.Razor's company in the bar in the evenings... I came down to Lynmouth & Lynton with my band The Freaky Dukes after speaking on the phone with Razor from The Village Inn and organising 3 gigs over the weekend firstly at the Cottage Inn, then the Crown Hotel and finally the Village Inn. Before we'd even arrived I already had an excellent impression of the staff and a... More

We turned up in Lynmouth off-season, on a truly awful, rainy, cold January day. But the village itself was still absolutely lovely to look at, even though much of it was shut. Fortunately, the Village Inn was open, and had rooms available even for those turning up on spec. It's what you'd expect from rooms above a pub - pretty... More

We've been to Lynton and Lynmouth many times. If you haven't been its well worth a visit! On a leisurely drive back home along the coast we stopped for another look around the shops and galleries in Lynmouth. In a moment of spontaneity, and it being a quiet time of the tourist year (February), we decided to try and find... More
