Had a wonderful stay at The Garden House. Breakfast was excellent, I loved my poached eggs, and the selection of fruits especially the strawberry and rhubarb compote. Tea selections also very tempting. Beautiful rooms and very clean, I like both rooms ( I stayed 4 nights and got to sleep in both ). Shame I didn't get to try Jane's... More

Jane & David make guests feel more like friends at a house party than paying customers. A wonderful house (unless you are a dyed in the wool minimalist) and beautiful garden, surpassed only by the quality of the welcome. I was only sorry that I didn't book early enough to ensure I could stay for the whole of my time... More

What can we say about this B&B that has not already been said. For the life of us we simply cannot fault it and would recommend it without reservation. The Garden House is close to the University (great for us as our daughter walked round to meet us on our arrival, thank you so much to David and Jane who... More

The Garden House was the perfect place to arrive late in the evening after a very long day and a harrowing journey. I was visiting Exeter with my son for a Uni Open Day. Jane and David made us so welcome with tea for me, juice for my son and slices of delicious homemade cake. The ambience of this beautiful... More

We stayed at the Garden House for two nights to attend our daughter's graduation. Jane and David made us feel like family. On arrival we were welcomed with tea and cake - a very tasty 'lemon drizzle' sponge which, with the help of the other guests, we almost polished off! The dining room overlooks a beautiful garden which we enjoyed... More

Beautiful room with very tasty, homemade cake, many teas to choose from, bathroom with lots of extra's like soaps, lotions etc, books and magazines everywhere. I could have stayed here much longe than the one night booked. I felt spoilt like a lilttle girl instead of a granny of 67! More

Wonderful, welcoming place to stay. Very comfortable and relaxing - beautiful rooms with everything you could think of for a restful stay - and such a wonderful antidote to the usual bland, contemporary accomodation. Lovely pot of tea and cake on arrival in the sitting room with view onto the garden and mouth watering breakfast the following morning. Didn't want... More

From the moment we arrived until we departed three days later our stay at The Garden House couldn't have been lovelier. The Woolcock's hospitality made us feel so welcome and we enjoyed walking through Exeter and exploring the lovely town. Our bedroom and all of the nice extra touches the Woolcock's provide made us sad to leave. Can't recommend this... More

Despite our arriving at 11 p.m Jane & David welcomed us warmly & immediately produced a tray of tea & cake. They are friendly, charming hosts & very helpful. The house is decorated in Victorian style & has masses of character. Everywhere is immaculately spotless. The breakfast can only be described as a feat & there are lots of goodies... More

My friends and I, as first time visitors, arrived at Garden House to the most wonderfully warm greeting from David and Jane that anyone could hope to receive. We were immediately made to feel at home; as though we were welcomed family who had just returned from our travels. I had made the booking based on the feedback already listed... More
