Heavenly location right on the moor - just cross the lane to walk right over the hills! Simple, clean, comfortable rooms, house and gardens redolent of the 20s and 30s. Very good breakfast, and cafe on site. Warm. Staff could not do enough, friendly and helpful.

Stayed here on a walking holiday for 4 nights. The place is located perfect for this. The staff and manager esp go out of their way to make your stay perfect. The rooms are spacious and clean and the food is wonderful. Would recomend if looking to stay in Dartmoor just for the grounds and surrounding area.

Nobody advised us to order at the counter... so at 1.15 we went to find some service and ordered. At 1.45 we were served. At 2.15 we ordered sweets, at 2.45 they arrived......
