Ate here over Easter holidays, lunch on a very quiet day. We were made very welcome and never felt forgotten about. The food was excellent (fish pie is a must!) The baby was made welcome and got a highchair and his food warmed up. Great atmosphere! We loved looking at all the crazy things.

Called in on a very wet lunch time and received a very warm welcome. Service was attentive and excellent, even providing bar towels to remove the excess water from our dripping hair! We visited on a rugby trip (Dundee) to play the Cornish Pirates and met some of our new friends from the home game here. The food on the buffet (provided by Nick and Dave) was excellent especially the battered fish and home made chips. Very attentive staff particularly Jules the manageress was really welcoming. I recently stayed in the Artists Residence opposite the Admiral Benbow. So naturally after working in the area, colleagues and I had to go to the Admiral for a pint or 2 to d-stress. After reading the reviews we decided to stop at the Admiral Benbow for lunch on our visit to Chapel Street, Penzance. It's a very old and cosy pub full of character. We were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed our pub lunch. We would definitely return.

The food at the Benbow really is excellent, and even when they're busy the staff generally do their best to keep an eye on you and make sure you're happy. Please be aware that the managements policy is NOT to open wine at the table. The food was ok but not as good as previously found and was a little salty, profiteroles were still frozen in the middle. Shame this magnificent setting is ruined by poor attention to detail.
