I had a single room for a good price: they did not need to apologise. The owners and staff were friendly and professional. It has an excellent view over the bay. Family and dog friendly. Sad to see it become apartments just as I got to know it. More

My husband and I stayed at the hotel 6 years ago and wanted to go back when we heard that the hotel was to shut. The sea view from our room was as wonderful as I remembered and the reception and waiting staff as polite and helpful. I think our visit might have overlapped with that of the previous reviewer... We stayed here 5 years ago and just loved it so when we heard they were closing we decided to make a return visit. Was it a mistake - probably. Things have obviously been left to slide and we felt sorry for the staff never any sign of the owners. Sadly the hotel also had guests who had obviously stayed... More

The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the beach which is amazing - at high tide the walk is more like 15 minutes along the coast path but still OK. The hotel is a bit of an eyesore, and is going to be turned into flats next year so understandable that the owners are letting it get a... More

Last year we had a great stay at the Headland in Newquay in May, and thought we would try the other side of the peninsular this year. We stayed for four nights at the end of June and unfortunately the weather was "typically British" for the two key days - i.e. day 1 - "horizontal rain"; day two - "horizontal... More

The first thing that stands out for this hotel is the amazing view. The hotel has large windows which show off the stunning view of well kept gardens and a view of Crantock Bay. You can access footpaths straight from the grounds of the hotel which go either around the coast to near by Polly Joke or down to the... More

My family is one of the many that have been coming here for years and years. Not much has changed in the two decades I've been coming - and although the decor is now a bit faded and dated it only adds to the charm of this place. The hotel is hugely comfortable, and the beds are heavenly; it's ideal... More

I was recommended a hotel, sadly it was the one down the road from this one and I made an expensive mistake! I didnt do the usual google checks before staying. Its a dated, in some parts shabby hotel. The beds are fine for sleep, views are brill however the bathroom is from the 70s! The TV would hardly tune... More

Following our recent trip to the Crantock Bay Hotel, I looked on this site and was slightly aghast at the negative reviews. During the last month I have stayed at a Hilton, Marriot and Mint. ALL charged for internet which was slow. All charged for parking (up to £30 per night) and only 1 had a pool which was more... More

Staying at this Hotel reminded me of when I used to stay at my Nan's house as a kid. Ok the decor is not the most modern but it's clean, tidy and full of some lovely family pictures. The food is very good and you get loads to eat. But best of all you are made to feel that nothing... More
