This is a great old pub if you just want a good pint of beer and a bit of Cornish atmosphere. Highly recommend going on a Thursday night for the sea shanties evening hosted by Miner Quay. Had a really good singalong. It's what you always hope you'll find when you come to Cornwall. Staggered back up the hill happy... More

Found this place on the last night of our holiday, which was a shame as it was what you expect a pub to be in a Cornish fishing village, lovely fire, nice atmosphere low old beams, definitely go back there when we visit Looe next, and will visit on an evening when there's shanty night.

The Jolly Sailor is a proper pub. Very good beer, atmosphere and always open for a good chat at the Bar. Run and owned by notorious Golfer, Stuart Horton, the Jolly Sailor is what a pub should be. Always a good clientele of local fishermen, trawler men and Malley, the Jolly Sailor is the perfect place to cultivate your hangover... More

An excellent central location, large clean rooms, friendly and accommodating staff and a hearty full English breakfast in the morning, An outstanding pub with a great pint served, don't miss the evening entertainment 'Shanty night' with Miner Quay on Thursday.

Nice pub, nice rooms. Staff not so friendly or helpful unfortunately, apart from the lady that did breakfast who was lovely as was the breakfast. Very noisy from very early in the morning (6.30) as there is a spar shop opposite which was receiving deliveries. There for at £90 a night for the room we had I feel is overpriced.... More

The best pub and the best beer in Looe by far. A proper local pub that serves a jolly good pint.

This is a really exceptional local pub. It's very old, serves good beers and has a folk / shanty / miner song night on Tuesdays and Thursdays run by a core of locals but with guests more than welcome. A really pleasure place to pass an evening.

Stayed for just one night, had room 1 a twin, good value for money at 60 pound for two people b and b, landlord was ill so no food available and we had to take breakfast at the near by cafe 50 yds away, which was no problem. Room was a good size, clean, comfy beds, good hot shower, tea... More
