Excellent location close to the centre of Chester. Room was a good size, but fittings felt a bit tired. Breakfast was nice enough, but hospitality was not gushing. A pleasant stay, but not exceptional.

We stayed at this guest house for one night over a weekend with family including our young son. we do not recommend this guest house for families with small children as the family room is on the 3rd floor and access is limited via a very steep staircase which is not suitable for the elderly or young! After spending the... More

We are very sorry that you were not happy with your stay with us. We apologised for the breakfast which was immediately thrown away and replaced, and like-wise for the alarm clock that, as you suggested, may well have been switched on to the default alarm time during valeting the room. We did accommodate you by completing two rooms an... More

We were warmly welcomed by Helen with an immediate offer of tea or coffee. Mitchells is a lovely victorian house with high ceilings very nicely decorated with a home from home appeal. Our Double Room was decorated in a tasteful way. Nice toiletries and fluffy towels in the en-suite shower room. The tea tray is one of the best we... More

very clean, modern bathroon, fab room, more than the usual tea coffee than at many hotels, so glad we stayed here, less anonymous than staying at a hotel, delicious breakfast, plenty of it, short distance from chester town centre... will go back next time we stay in chester

We had a really nice long weekend at Mitchells of Chester, we received a lovely welcome with tea and biscuits plus some really useful information regarding what to see and where to eat in Chester. Our bedroom was lovely and the on suite nice, all very clean and tidy, the breakfast was superb and the service equally so, loved listening... More

Lovely b&b, very well ran, we had a nice big bed which was very comfy, had the best sleep I've had in ages. Made us feel very welcome, and was nice to see the family pets wondering round and the parrot talking away, it was a really nice breakfast in the morning with brilliant service to go with it, the... A lovely place, great beds, lovely room. The owners were lovely. A good location for chester however could be closer but all the same - great. Parking abit of a tight squeeze, too many rooms sadly not enough spaces for cars. Great stay overall

We had a very pleasant 3 day break here. Whilst not right in the heart of Chester it is only about 20 minutes walk and in a very nice area of Chester. It is on a moderately busy road but we didn't find the traffic noise a problem. Breakfasts were good, with a better than normal choice. We had a... More

My mother and I had a most enjoyable stay at Mitchells of Chester. The accommodation was spotless throughout, the welcome warm and unfailingly helpful. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, and plentiful. we have no hesitation in recommending Mitchells to anyone wanting a superior place to stay. One caveat - the stairs are steep - but for the able-bodied, this is... More

Our visit to the beautiful city of Chester was elevated to a fantastic experience when we checked into our guest house. After a warm welcome, afternoon tea in the lovely lounge, then a very comfortable bedroom set us up for the celebration party we were attending that evening. Next day, great breakfast and a walk into town completed our weekend.
