We booked the Chesterbridge Hotel after searching on the Internet, but hadn't read a lot of reviews on it. We were led to believe there was free parking. On arrival,on a weekend night, we were told there were no free spaces in the car park, but we could park outside, if there was a space on the street, and move... More

There's been mixed reviews, so we booked and hoped for the best. We stay in Chester every December and have tried most of the city hotels over the years. We had a great room. Yes the place is getting worn around the edges, they are planning to renovate this year. It's not a five (or four) star hotel, but the... More

My husband and I stayed at the Chesterbridge hotel New Years Eve also booking an evening meal in Oscars restaurant. On arrival for our meal we were told they had no available tables left but we could go and sit downstairs on our own away from all the festivities. We could have done that at home if we wanted to... Excellent location made up for the dated rooms. Good breakfast although would have appreciated vegetarian choice. Can be noisy through sash windows at front but it didn't keep me awake.

very unproffessional presentation and service-though no fault of the waiting on staff who unfortunately did not have a clue what was on the menu. Cold plates and serving dishes which of course made the food cold very quickly. Not all the meals served at the same time and some of the items on the menu were missing. The dining room... More

Having noted some rather negative reviews, we booked with some trepidation but any concerns were soon dispelled and we enjoyed an excellent stay. We were able to park easily behind the hotel, in their own area. The decor within the building was in good order, as was our room & bathroom. Tea & biscuits provided, we had a good nights... More

Grotty overpriced hotel, do not stay here. Told the rooms will be updated next year but not told when we booked. Very out of date and not clean at all. Unsafe electrical cables for tv and hairdryer in room 17. Room smelled and was damp. No car park space even though advertised. Only plus side is location.

Having read through some of the comments on this website, I have to say I am somewhat surprised and disappointed by the pettiness of some people! This hotel has such a lovely character, its welcoming, comfortable and charming. The staff went out of their way to assist us, polite and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Our food was lovely,... More

I visted this hotel with my husband as he had a conference in Chester. On arrival we were made aware that it was undergoing refurbishment, however, I would not recommend this hotel, it was drab, tired and needs a lot of improvements. Although the staff were pleasant and helpful the stay was very disappointing. The cold tap in our sink did... More
