A wonderful spot to stay for business or pleasure. The location in the historic district of Yarmouth is central and charming. The building has been renovated perfectly and all rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Best of all is the service. Neil takes care of you from start to finish. The breakfast is 4star and can't be beat. I'm hoping... More

A beautiful place to stay. Neil was very friendly and welcoming. The property is beautiful, rooms are stunning. Totally recommend this hotel to everyone who plans to visit Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Breakfast menu covers everyone's taste and needs. Neil, the owner treated us like royalty. Very clean and excellent quality. We would definitely stay here again if we return to... More

My husband & I stayed at the MacKinnon-Cann Inn for two nights on a snowy weekend in February. When we arrived mid-evening, we were greeted warmly by Neil. The most mouth-watering smells were coming from the Indian Restaurant located within the Inn. During our stay, nothing was too much trouble: we were brought ice for happy hour without having to... What a nice, classy, unique place to stay! Incredibly clean. The owner is very friendly. I felt like I was sleeping in a museum :) Heated floors in the bathroom were lovely and breakfast was delicious. I stayed in the 1960's room, classy with touches of orange and leopard print. Walking distance to many unique shops. Lovely stay, definitely looking... More

My husband stays here regularly for business and this time I was lucky enough to go along. The hosts are accomodating and helpful. I had a nice spot in the dining room to work during the day. Bacon, eggs, juice, yogurt and fruit were yummy. Our room was lovely, especially the heated bathroom floor. Our favorite place to stay in... More

I highly recommend the MacKinnon-Cann Inn. This is truly my Home away from Home. Neil goes out of his way to ensure my stay is perfect! As a female solo traveller...I feel very safe and secure her. I could not imagine staying anywhere else! This is the best choice in Yarmouth!

We went to this charming victorian inn for an overnight on a business trip and we were greeted as royalty by Neil the owner of this inn. We had requested a place to work prior to our business meeting and Neil went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable. This fully restored VIctorian house has a lot of... More

This is the second time I have stayed at the McKinnon-Cann Inn (on business). I love this place. The Inn is so much nicer, and much more warm and cozy than staying at a chain hotel. As a solo female traveller, safety is a huge concern. I often do not feel very safe in some of the hotels I stay... More

Just returned from a weekend stay at the inn with family and friends. Neil and Mike were superb hosts! The inn is incredibly decorated (actually even more beautiful than the photos online), food was delicious and the service top notch. Hoping to return to Yarmouth someday and would stay there again in a heart beat! Thanks!

Historic Yarmouth has been going through some tough times lately. At one time it had a registered ship tonnage almost as great as Boston and was one of the wealthiest towns in Canada. The wealth translated into a competition between ship owners, captains and merchants to see who could build the finest home. With cost not an issue Yarmouth soon had... More
