My sister and I stayed at the Walper on Sunday May 19, and let’s just say this will never happen again. We heard so many good and bad things about the Walper, and I can assure you the bad ones are accurate. At check in, we got laughed at by the desk agent for having some errors on our reservation.... I stayed at the Walper Hotel and well, let's just say I wouldn't go back. The decor was very bizarre, the hotel was very old, and lacked character. Our room was small and very basic. The bathroom was so small that there wasn't even room to hang our towels. Our room was also above the party room and the music... More

Dear Lady Chisolm I am sorry you weren't happy with your stay. Perhaps the information wasn't communicated correctly to you through the room directories, but we do have room service on site running daily until 11pm. As well, although we do have a partnership with Goodlife 6 buildings away, we also have a small gym on site. I am not... More

Very much enjoyed our trip to this hotel. It is nothing like a chain hotel and the history of the hotel makes it a wonderful place to stay. They are working on older rooms to get them all up to date. Check in is a bit hard. There is no place to really pull in to drop off your luggage... More

We stayed at the Walper for a Friday night, more or less on business. The room was lovely, had all amenities, clean, lots of space and light. The bed: probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, and I contemplated ways to steal it. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the parking was only a 3 minute... More

Numerous rooms were booked in this restored historical hotel in downtown Kitchener and it was really the perfect place for family and friends to gather for a wedding. We all arrived on different days and times to celebrate the event which was held at the City Hall 2 blocks away and reception at the Conrad Centre just across the street.... More

My sister and I have stayed at the Walper hotel on 3 different occasions in the last year . Established in 1893, the Walper is a beautiful restored grand dame with much pride in her historic past. During our stay we often felt like we were rubbing shoulders with noteworthy people we had read about and admired. The hotel rooms... More

Found the hotel to be adequate but have to say brunch at their restaurant was unacceptable. After arrival (10:00 am) found their buffet was out of pancakes, eggs and other items. We were there for 30 minutes and they still weren't filled. Got one cup of coffee and you guessed it they ran out of coffee, they had no more... More

My buddy and I stayed at the Walper and we enjoyed it to the fullest. The desk staff Louis and Fortuna were amazing; with his epic sense of humor and hers perfect smile and strong eye contact, their service was amazing. As a walk in guests, they hooked us up with awesome renovated and comfortable room, which included our parking... More

My partner and I stayed here and we would like to thank The Walper for a marvellous stay! The interior of this hotel is simply stunning. The chandeliers, the high ceilings and the historic past made the hotel more enchanting. The staff were great – very friendly, welcoming and attentive - nothing was too much to ask. The room we... I stayed here recently for a conference. The Walper is a lovely historic hotel with breathtaking reception rooms and a storied past. The hotel staff are exceptional; the food is very good--both at breakfast and at Rum Runners Pub. The beds are very comfortable and rooms nicely appointed with good coffee, free wifi, and other amenities. Our conference banquet was... More
