Now firstly let me stress, I am not a person who complains, and I have had many poor experiences from hotels and restaurants. But this so was so terrible I felt I needed to take the time from my busy life to warn others, So please take this review as gospel. The rooms are cold damp and dirty, and believe... More

We had a one night stay due to going to a wedding at nearby allerton castle. The food was wonderful and the staff couldnt do enough to help. The only point I would make is that they need a little more help at breakfast time to make things run a little smoother. Otherwise we had a lovely stay... and I... More

Thank you for your kind comments, and I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay. I'm sorry breakfast was a little disorganised during your stay- a combination of our usual staff having a weekend off, a new coffee machine which was mis-behaving and all our guests breakfasting at the same time. I hope we will see you again for another... More

I first ate in this pub on the 8th March 1968 and I've been back many times since although admittedly often at 2 or 3 year intervals. It's always been a cosy clean and welcoming pub and today we were shocked approaching the pub from the B625 via Harrogate Road. The pub looks almost derelict from the road but there... More

We have just about completed a programme of re-furbishment and improvements to our letting rooms and interior of the pub. I'm sure you will have noticed significant differences and improvements to your previous visits, notably the toilets, decorations and furniture, flooring and carpets. You... More

My husband and I stayed here recently as we were at a birthday party in the village. We chose the Bay Horse purely for convenience. It is a friendly spot with a cosy bar. We stayed in what appeared to be stables that were converted in the 1980's, you come straight out onto the courtyard from the bedroom door. The... More

This is a pub restaurant with about 10 or 12 rooms. The room we had was quite small so perhaps not ideal if you spend too much time there. However there is a very nice old village inn type bar and restaurant where you can relax. The bar has a good range of real ales and cask beers as well... More

we wanted somewhere to stay one night before Wetherby Races; the Bay Horse was perfect - near the course, easy to find from the M1, and very good value. The rooms - separate from the main pub - are snug, warm and comfortable; not luxurious, but what do you expect for £65 a night B and B? The pub is... More

Thank you for your kind comments- we do try and make sure our guests get the benefits of staying in a village pub without being disturbed by our pub customers. Having completed a programme of improvements to the inside and letting rooms, we are now looking at creating a better spot outside, away from the letting rooms, for smokers. No... More

On the plus side the pub has a lovely cosy atmosphere. It's set in a pretty village which is in a good location. We ate here and we all enjoyed our food.
