Visited 5th may for dinner made reservation same day but could only get 9pm sitting which shows how popular it is. very pleasantly surprised by the Wild Boar Inn. A lot of character in the building, warm welcome from the staff, lovely food. The attached forest offers nice walks. The smoked salmon (from their smoke house) was really good, as well as the lamb. I kept looking at the dishes passing by as wanted to try them all.

We've been visiting this restaurant for some time now. The food is always well presented, hot and delicious. Lots of choice on the menu too. It changes regularly too. The whole place exudes character, charm and warmth. A must en route to Windermere.

Stayed as part of walking group on Dales Way. Welcoming arrival and lovely bar area to sit and have first drink of day after a long walk. Rooms above the bar seem nicer and more recently refurbished. We stayed right a back and upstairs of more recently added wing. Here the plumbing was troublesome with nice bathrooms but poor water... More

Yet another brilliant visit to this lovely Hotel, we stayed in room () sorry not giving that away, but it is a feature room. The Food (Sea Bass) which we asked for was lovely & staff did everthing to make our stay welcome. We are counting the days to our next visit and a few pints of Mad Pig. "Cheers".
