Every year we take my Mum and Dad away instead of buying them birthday and Christmas presents and this year they asked to go to the New Forrest .As usual I set about checking the reviews on Tripadvisor. It came down to two in the end and I am so glad I picked Wayside cottage. We turned up about 4.00pm... More

Stayed 4 nights at Wayside Cottage with my elderly mother and couldn't fault a thing. Warm welcome from Janet followed by tea and cakes. We were given a downstairs twin room which was superb - soft beds with fluffy quilts, bathroom with warm towels. Breakfast was heavenly - as much as you wanted and plenty of choice. Janet and John... Just came back from our short stay (2nights) at wayside cottage and can not say a bad word about it. The room was perfect for a couple sharing. Massive queen size bed, comfy pillows and duvets, tea facilities in the room, freeview tv, big fluffy warm towels, heated bathroom, big bath/shower and a hair dryer!. Was greeted down stairs for... We had a two night stay, very friendly from the moment we arrived, the room was clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was lovely, home made jams, honey and bread which is a lovely touch. The cooked breakfast was really nice. We will definitely be coming back.

We stayed with friends for four days over the Easter holiday. We were made so very welcome at this charming Edwardian cottage. Janet and John care for your every need, from the copious breakfasts to leaving torches our for dark evening walks up the lanes. Crisp white sheets and luxuriously comfy beds make the stay restful too. The owners know... More

We have just stayed at Wayside Cottage for Easter 3 nights myself and Husband, it was lovely. Two lovely little dogs to greet you along with John or Janet. The dogs also like to share your cake, when you have a welcome cupper on arrival. The room we had was really nice at end of corridor, we could see the... More

Really, Francesca H has said it all below so I'll just endorse her review. We stayed for 2 nights just before Easter and found it a very easy, comfortable, friendly experience. Janet and John are a very pleasant and obliging couple.

We stayed here for 3 nights in mid-March and had a lovely time, despite the weather being a bit temperamental! On arrival the owner Janet greeted us (along with the two dachshunds!) and showed us to our room (Room 4) which was a good size, with a comfy bed and en-suite bathroom - all immaculately clean and nicely decorated. Janet... More

Checked in for one night in October for a quick mid week two day break with my better half. Lovely location and very peacefull. Burley itself is a lovely base and one of the only villages in the New Forest without cattlegrids in the main roads so the ponies and cows, yes cows can wander at will. We also stumbled... More
