“Great place for bird watchers”

I selected Studio Villa, The Hill, Batu Layar, Lombok for an extended stay, commencing in December 2012. My purpose was to study and photograph the local birds and butterflies. The Studio is located at 100 metres above sea level, and is set in several hectares of original forest, interspersed with a tropical garden planted with mango trees, palm trees, etc... More

“Lovely Lombok”

If you're looking for something unique and secluded, this is the place. The staff is so gracious and charming, beautiful view, secure, very clean accommodations with tasteful decor, delish breakfast and hosts that will make you feel right at home! enjoy!

We thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of The Studio. Beautiful valley and sea views depending on what you like, friendly hosts and welcoming staff. We felt totally comfortable sleeping with open doors and experiencing the cooling night breezes from under the netted canopy of our delightful four poster bed. What a place to relax,beautifully presented.You can almost feel the tender loving care lavished on The Studio by the owners who have attended to every detail.I felt completely at home.It is very secluded and and if privacy is what you seek The Studio is perfect

“Our stay at The Studio in Lombok”

"Beautiful, tranquil location on a hill; very comfortable classic Indonesian style house and interior design; large living area; balconies to enjoy great views; landscaped front outdoor area. We watched the sunset over Bali, enjoyed the cool sea breezes and revelled in the charm of the place. For me Lombok far outshines its more famous neighbour - it's not as crowded or chaotic or dirty, has waterfalls, jungle or mountain walks, cultural sites and events to rival anywhere, good food, good music, great atmosphere. Guests can walk right out the door of the Studio and head off into the hills, where you get great views, you can visit local villagers and see a little more of Lombok - off the beaten track.... More
