We stayed 1 night in this hotel. When we arrived, the man behind the bar could not find our booking. Another staffmember (i think it was the owner) did find our room, but was very hasty. After showing our room, we did not get any information about breakfast times. No info at all. The room was nice, and the bed... More

Went for supper have not been there since the refurb and new ownership. Liked the refurbishment and the garden looks lovely but the food was overpriced for what is very average. Service ok but not great. Probably will not re visit to eat but maybe a nice place for a drink on a summer evening.

The improvements made over the past year are excellent and the venue has to be one of the best on the wonderful K&A Canal. But, the meal prices are way over the top - the food is good, but not all that great. A normal bar meal menu, with prices comparable with other pubs in the area (especially for when... More

Pleasant, good-sized room overlooking the lovely adjacent river Kennet at the back (the canal is at the front). There are three public rooms, a conventional bar which is fairly standard but a good size and light and airy, facing the canal. A dining room on two floors; the ground floor has lovely views east over the gardens between the two... More

I had read a review in my Olive magazine which said this was good. Sadly our visit was anything but. The restaurant service was slow and the staff were less than competent. We ordered 8 oysters 6 came not on ice and they were not that fresh. We only had 1 fork and no spoon for the shallot vinegar. My... More

We’ve been to the Dundas Arms a number of times since the ownership changed & a pattern is emerging – good food & beer - if you can get it! It starts at the front door, there appear to be no end of staff milling around, actually pinning one down & getting them to take you your table is another... More

Firstly, we didn't stay here as we were staying in Hungerford. We were told about the Dundas Arms by a resident of Hungerford who suggested we walked along the canal to the pub which we did!! The walk from Hungerford to Kintbury takes approx an hour at a brisk pace, easy walking as an even, good footpath. A very attractive... More

Having now stayed 3 times at the Dundas Arms since December 2012, and most recently in April 2013, I find myself unable to understand some of the negative comments on here. My wife and I are regular travellers and dine out frequently, and so consider ourselves to have a broad experience to rate hotels and restaurants. In our view, this... More

Wonderful setting, pleasant and warm rooms. Staff excellent, everything we asked for was granted. Dined in each evening, lovely food and generous portions. The time we spent there they seemed very busy so they cant be doing too much wrong.
